also how come I can use this alongside another antivirus program? Yours is an antivirus program. I was always told that you cannot run 2 antivirus programs at the same time.

Also why would you want to put another one with it? Isn't it suffucient to run all by itself?

I would think 2 would bog down the computer or lock it up.
    please explain
    thanks

I'm glad it worked for you and you liked it.

help file and scan scheduler are scheduled to be included in next release or later.

    yes it's compatible with win8.
you can see the Update history button after you do a manual update. :)

    Regards,
    Amin

Kingsoft specialists designed this a way which will have the least (better to say "no") incompatibility with other AV programs. one of the common mottoes of kingsoft is compatibility with others. in fact this is a positive point.

nowadays users like to have several security programs on their machine.

Of course kingsoft is a Standalone Antivirus which can protect you perfectly. but that doesn't necessarily mean if you want to install any other AV , kingsoft would nag you about it. kingsoft designed this way so that he respect the users' desires , one of their most important desires is having a compatible AV.

KAV can be used either Standalone or alongside of any other av without any lapses thanks to kingsoft's skilled specialists.

I just want to say thanks to Kingsoft -- I am literally beaming right now. I just installed KAV a few mins ago and it is absolutely the lightest AV I've ever used. Adding to that, the install took maybe 15 seconds, and I love the GUI. One thing that I guess I will have to get over :p is the inaccurate wording in English in some areas of the program. I think it's a Chinese company who makes this? Not a big deal at all for me, really, though.

I was using Panda Cloud for a month or so recently, and before that it was mainly NOD32 and Norton. I always felt secure with the protection but I have a dingy laptop and would periodically check Wilders for something new and light to pop up that people were excited about. I am so glad I found this, because I took one look at their av-c score and downloaded.

This is the only AV I've ever used where it actually feels like I don't have one installed at all. Just love it, can't say enough about it. Thanks again, Kingsoft, and I hope you keep updating your cloud AV for a long time.

I have a question. On the download page for the av, there is a big green link button to dl the cloud av and in small print underneath a bit is a link in small print that says "Full Download (Local Virus Lib Integrated)"

This is confusing to me. Can someone please explain this to me? Am I more secure if I download and install the Full Download version?

That was my first thought. I hope if that is the case that it wouldn't affect pc performance at all, though.

Woww :D .. i guessed this might be you but i was uncertain :thumb:

    @Senhor_F
it's simple , if you want to use the kingsoft on a machine that always has access to internet you should get the Cloud-based (The one with green button)
and if it has access to internet occasionally, you can get the local Virus lib version.

regarding system performance , these two are the same as each other and neither of them would affect your system's performance.

    Amin

If I understand well the green button is 5.2 (Kingsoft signatures) and the Local Virus lib would be 3.5 (Kingsoft+Avira).
    Is that right?

my understanding is green=cloud and the other downloads sigs to computer.

It shouldnt matter which you choose because both should have or provide equal protection.

I am not sure that is a true statement. I tested the 2013 beta, and it did seem to use a little more cpu, disk, etc than the current cloud version.

Also, I remember reading on their forums a while back that users where complaining about the program being heavier after adding Avira. That's why they put Avira in, and then took it out, until they could further discuss the plan.

I'm fine with 5.2 as it. Super light, and does very well in zero day detection for me every time I test it.

    @clocks

Hi.. existing versions are not using Avira's engine yet.and also all of 'em are the same regarding performance aspect. :)
but maybe 2013 beta uses a little bit more of system resourses Comparing to its predecessor , but it's still fast as in the past a way which every one gonna like it. remember , most important priorities of kingsoft are

    True protection
    Compatibility
    lightness

these factors will always remain at the top of priority list of kingsoft.

    Regards,
    Amin

Can someone enlighten me on one detail?
Are there issues when uninstalling, like too many remnants/leftovers?

    Thanks.

These version numbers seem screwy. Version 3.5 has Avira, but 5.2 does not? What will the English 2013 version be?

Did you try to run them, or just scan them? I suspect Kingsoft would detect more if they were run.

3.5 has Avira, and later version does not because they debated whether avira was going to change this "completely cloud product" to a heavier one. 2013 will have Avira in it.
