    Brian,

From the first page of this thread you say:

but in the newest version released this week, I don't have the Use Windows 7 MBR; instead I have Use Windows 9x MBR. How should I proceed here?

    Thanks

    dueceswild,

I had to check it out too. Same thing in IFD and IFL as well.

The default MBR is now a Win7 MBR so you don't have to tick a MBR choice anymore. If you tick "Use Windows 9x MBR" you get the old Win98/WinXP MBR. Even if you have WinXP, don't tick this as the default Win7 MBR is fine for all OS.

"Windows Vista and later tied the kernel loader to the MBR code such that using previous MBR code may not allow Windows Vista or later to boot on certain machines. Enable this option to use the code base compatible with Windows Vista or later any time the MBR code on a drive needs written or updated. The new MBR code will continue to boot older OSes with the exception of some (rare) configurations using Win9x on FAT32.
Regardless of the setting of this option, you can write either the old standard MBR code or the new Vista and later compatible MBR code to a drive in the View MBR window in Partition Work."
