Does not sound good. Could you remove MBAM and then install it after finishing the installation of F-Secure? Any AV that won't run well with MBAM gets the file 13.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

  2. Jerry it forces you to remove MBAM if you want to install F-secure IS. Didn't even bother trying to use it after it wanted me to download the application 3 times and refused to work in virtualbox.

As I said not impressed, really was looking forward to testing it out :(.

Thanks. That causes me to be uninterested, even though it has good detection rates.

you buy a security suite but want to run separates? , I'm lost as to what your trying to do, remember with AV's you will fine that they try to do a complete job of protecting your computer & MBAM is not the end all product its not perfect...If you want to run MBAM get a more AV product but F secure is a deep program...

    Hi Larry,

I do not believe that any AV or suite alone is as good as the same one using MBAM running alongside. I personally know a couple of friends who used an AV that at the time had a detection rate among the top 3 according to AV-C. I trust AV-C.
They got a rogue that the AV did not find, and could not fix. They could not download or do much on the internet due to the rogue redirecting them or blocking them.

Since they could not download MBAM I put it on a CD and took it to one and it only took a quick scan for MBAM to detect and remove the rogue. The other friend did something similar but it was MBAM that fixed his system.

So if any AV or suite will not let MBAM run with it then that AV goes to the trash bin. I do not find that the ones I desire to use have any conflict with MBAM.

    Regards,
    Jerry

whatever but MBAM is not infallable just because it helped in one situation does not make it the perfect solution, you can use F seucre & have MBAM as on demand if you want but any product can and will miss something IMHO F seucre is one of the better products & just because AV-C gives it a thumbs up that does not make it the answer. The answer is in your use of a product & how you surf. In one instance where my wife got vundo MBAM would not remove it, nor a few others I used. F secure found where it was burried in her system so it worked. FWIW F secure is not the only priduct that will remove others secondary malware programs so please don't dump on it just because of that issue...

Not meant to dump on it, but other excellent AVs do run well with MBAM in real time. That is the way I go. F-Secure has high marks, but so do some others that run well with MBAM. I won't even consider any AV that won't run happily with MBAM.

    To each his own.
    Regards,
    Jerry

It could be a firewall extender. WSA uses that technique, and I believe Trend Micro do too. At least, they used to.

By means of their real-time chatting supporting service I could install the F-Secure Internet Security 2013 at the Windows 8 Pro w/ the Media Center. It runs very well for now. Besides, their mobile security software runs in my Android-based GALAXY S III and it does its job well, indeed.

I am afraid that the Media Center went amiss after the Panda Internet Security 2013 got installed. Well, I have the license key for 5 yrs, so that I should wait till they fix it when the Windows 8 comes out to the public this Oct.

am givin it a shot.. till now everything seems fine.

god knows what kind of troubles and pain i went through while i was trying to install f-secure 2013.... can't they just afford to make an offline installer ??

it checks for conflicting software quite critically.. if u had installed a security software 2 thousand years ago , f-secure will nag you about it

my subscription expires on the 11th January 2013

Could have been signature updates etc.:ninja:

f-secure is so powerful , but i wonder how someone can clean an infected pc using f-secure.. i mean he has to get the online installer first. then run the online installer and then you have to go through all bureaucrasies and f-secure's naggings and so on... finally if u succeeded to install f-secure then you can have a hope of cleaning the infection.

    not cool..

You get a 6 month license for free, one per IP adress/email adress. The article suggests Hotspotshield to evade this so you can get more licenses than 1.

Just installed it and it's running very light on my system. Feels much lighter than Kaspersky. Promising start to my 3-month trial.

Don't listen to what others are saying. Try it for yourself and then decide.

Looks to me like malwarebytes has full monopoly over your system although i share your sentiment i cant see the hassle in uninstalling and reinstalling MBAM.
    Love your term "FILE13".:D
