Avast 7 has been a complete disaster as far as i am concerned....so much so that it has shaken my confidence of installing it in near future.

I have tried 4 different builds of version 7 and even put up a thread on their forums, but to no avail....BSOD's and BSOD's...

There is no BSOD that cannot be debugged. You just need to provide memory dumps. avast! team is quite aggressive against BSOD's since they are the worst of any error type. I don't think they wouldn't fix it unless if you didn't provide enough info. Or, your system is in such bad shape its not even avast!'s fault anymore...

good to see avast still enjoys strong loyality base as isevident from some pointed comments i have got.

Its quite evident from my last post that i had done the needful while reporting bugs.
if the program is repeatedly going under beta for bsod,s fixing for some time, its for anyone to make a fair assessment on why its happening

i am not someone to go around trashing products, i have slammed it after giving it due time and in my 6yrs here, i know how to keep my system running without problems.

It's amazing how people's fortunes vary.

I have 6 licenses for AIS 7 and nary a problem. You won't find me complaining on the avast! forum.

No idea why some have problems (serious ones) and others have little to none.

Good Evening ! I would like to see Avast simplify their product...less emphasis on Sandboxing...and Graphics...and greater emphasis placed on a user friendly experience. And I currently have licenses for both A.I.S. and Avast A/V Pro...the uninstall process when it comes to uninstalling the Sandboxing component...and B.S.O.D.'s has unfortunately damped my enthusiasm for this generally Excellent product. Hope springs eternal...Sincerely...Securon

I'd actually like to see sandboxing continue and, dearly, I wish they would provide a useful behavior blocker. The BB is there, but as many have mentioned it just sort of sits there. As to graphics, I see little wrong with what they have even though my preference is to not go too far with social features that really needn't be in a security program. If I enjoy the product, I can assure them my word will get out. I don't need Facebook or any other thing invading my AV to do so. BSOD issues and bugs are just a part of testing Beta software. You need to know these things will happen going in and, hopefully, informing the vendor of such problems along with system configuration so they can get them all sorted out before release.

Eh eh... I think memory leaks and performance degradation are much more tricky :D

The fact remains that this one of the buggiest product version avast has ever released....in my knowledge atleast 6-7 beta's have been undertaken to fix BSOD problem and i tried atleast 4 of them, but it never let me go past the log-in screen.
Avast was my goto free AV till version 6 and i have used it for yrs........but sadly my confidence has shaken.

I've only had a BSOD from Avast! once, and it was a beta version.
