To me AV detection rates have become blurred. Just about everyone delivers a good quality performance under the hood. But we don't buy cars anymore based on the engines. Its what's inside or on the dashboard & creature comforts that sells cars nowadays. So what AVs & Security Suites?

For me I'm nominating Kaspersky as the most user friendly, functional & attractive GUI.

NB** I'm too lazy to do a poll & for sure I'll leave out some. (Hate it when that happens)

I second you, Kaspersky's interface is nice and easy to use.

I own a 1 year / 3 PC license recently bought, will I ever use it? NO WAY :( because it makes my computer crawl to death in terms of performance

Some of the rogue AVs out there have really good GUI design / concept to compensate for their worthless "features".

Odd that. My pc is a couple of months short of eight years old and looking at the spec of yours, it outperforms mine comfortably. I don't know which edition of Kaspersky you use, but Pure 2 runs light and smooth on my system.

I'd say MSE. You can't get more minimalistic than that. Too bad most of other things are rubbish. I also like Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 interface and layout.
And i like avast! and the way how they don't go all mad with interface in every new major version like most others do. They just refresh it to make it feel new but they keep it similar to the last version so existing users don't get confused and lost...

Kaspersky GUI while is good looking has always troubled me to find things since it offers lots of customizations. My current choices are.
    AVG & Kingsoft.

As for UI looks, Bitdefender and Comodo. (Ofcourse no point whatsoever for Comodo`s usability)

I like ESET's interface. Norton and Kaspersky would be second and third. This would have worked better as a poll.

IMO Norton, PC Tools, ZoneAlarm and F-Secure have good (i.e. very pleasing to the eye and simple to use) GUIs.
