Any change in the GUI. I did not like the GUI when they changed it from Tall Emu,s one to Emsisoft one. It was a real downgraded GUI IMO.

they had to change the name for obvious reasons.Thats the only thing that changed in the GUI.

How was the GUI downgraded if they only changed the name? o_O

That doesn't make sense, why wouldn't u come here regularly, people make comments here they wouldn't normally, and most people here are very savvy, bad business if you ask me.

Except that technically, this is a brand new version because of the 5 to 6 bump. Will everyone who wishes to run Online Armor on Windows 8 have to buy a new license?

If my memory serves me right, OA license system is time based. If you have active license you get any updates for free, after your license expires you can still use it with last OA version it was active for.

    EDIT- my =/= me

Aww? don't be sad. I know you love pop ups. And pop up reduction would a nightmare for you. Don't worry Noob I'm sure Emsisoft will increase the pop ups in the future versions. :D :argh:

Great point..... This wasn't the case with Tall Emu.

Since "andrewf" would not answer the question about V.6 being native to a 64-bit system.... I would assume that it is Not.

It's not. It really is no different from 5.5 other than a few GUI tweaks and bug fixes. I'm sure moving to Win 8 is a major task for them so has pushed out other things but it would be nice of them to confirm plans for 64 bit.

This firewall would be great if it would have gotten in the free version 2 things :

    -ICMP control
    -Export /Import of the settings

Can we make a request to the vendor so this are added to the free version ?!

This firewall really needs something like a blocklist .like you have in Outpost.
I have discovered that Domains stuff doesn t work ,nothing gets blocked.I am not sure the web filter really works even though it says it s enabled.

Also the HIPS feature needs tweaking ,it block all kinds of programs (Punk Buster set up for example could not complete while HIPS was on) ,with no alerts.

This firewall helped me block something(maybe spyware) that was doing just fine with the W7 x64 build in firewall in spite of the outbound policy being on and tight.

I practically installed it in all W7 installations because it blocks stuff like a firewall should do.
This firewall evolved a lot since it changed it s master ,less resource hogger.

    Sm3K3R,

Blocklist is available in advanced mode.

If Domains doesn't seem to work on your system, please check this post on Emsisoft forums.

No, that's not what it's about. Domains stuff works just fine with sandboxie.
