Did you password protect it? Password protection makes OA like anti-executable.;)

Nobody be aghast or laugh but i"m running:
    Webroot SecureAnywhere
    Eset Nod AntiVirus
    SpyShelter
    Emsisoft Anti Malware
    Emsisoft Online Armor

I was only running two or three before but experimented and found out that on my machine they are all playing together very well and since they are I chose to let them continue together till someone starts to act up but so far I have no slow downs or conflicts :)

Probably an overkill but they are not causing any problems so far

:) Once I had a chance to see how Norton and Nod both tried to quarantine one piece of malware. There were popup windows all over the screen and I couldn't do anything but closing one after another. I could do that to etarnity have I not find a way to disable Nod. It was like popup heaven... :)

Sooner or later you will discover that "they are all playing together very well" has become an impossible dream....For yours sake machine,i hope later.:D

I'm thinking of running KIS 2013 and WSA Essentials together, someone is doing it? What was needed to run both? It took some exception?

    Thanks!

OK, what is the official time span before I find out if it is good to go or an impossible dream.I need to know :)
    So far about one month.

Unfortunately, conflicts happens behind the scene and you are not actually realising it at all as everything seems to work fine. The ciritical moment is commonly when you will be faced by malware that may cause your AV software to fight each other to block the bug. In some cases you will end up with your PC crashing or hanging and the risk of actually getting infected (= less protection). WSA is designed to deal with type of issues while the rest of the active AVs are not. ;)

Gold security rule: Keep it simple. What it matter is not the amount of tools you run but how well you are able to govern and set them to protect you.

I would just run WSA + another AV (if you really feel like) and a solid backup/image software. More than enough ;)

I experimented with a zip file with 70 malware bugs and while it's opening all the AV's catch something but no shutdown or BSOD. Nod usually gets the most Emsisoft abot 6 to 8 and Webroot with 6 or less.

Oh yea sometimes I run them all under ShadowDefender when I'm feeling a little paranoid :)

You have been running/executing each file in the Zip? Or just right click scan or decompress on HD? Scenario is completely different if it is a offline scan or its live infection :)

I am unzipping the files onto the hard drive and they are being picked off by whatever AV feels like quarantining the malware. I don't know how they figure out who gets what but some are greedier then others. I am always left with an empty folder and have to go to AV kids to see who snatched what.

Yeap, its normal you don't experience problems. The real issues may come on real live infections (been actually executed), especially if low level, not simply on-demand scan of inactive malware. Most here will recommend not to run more than one active AV or run more than one only if it is specifically designed to do so (WSA).

Sorry for the offtopic discussion :) . Close and out.

    I'll give you another month,top :D
On a serious side, fax explained more than clear what means more security installed on a single pc.And you have 2 AVs (well,EAM is an AntiMalware solution as its name says, not an ordinary AV) and WSA (compatible with another AV they say, personally i'm not convinced about this) and 2 HIPS software,SS and OA...Are you sure your machine is still "breathing"?:D
In Romania we have an old sayin'...of what or why you are afraid of,you will not escape.Because you have all these security software installed, just to not become infected. One AV or Anti-Malware,a FW (stand alone or HIPS),a sandboxing software for the browsers, common sense it's all what it takes,at least IMO.
PS.I bet if you pick,i don't know, just one HIPS and one AV from your list you'd be amazed of how well your machine would behave.More snappier, faster and lighter. And maybe it would thank you too,who knows...:D

Not laughing but just hope they don't try to stop malware all at once.Your system may need life support.:p For me nothing good ever came from to many security programs other then more exploits, conflicts and slow downs.
