Does Emsisoft not use it's own sigs guest?

I agree, you can have the BitDefender engine in many other products as well. :D But overall it's a good choice to reduce FP. ;)

According to this link it still uses Mamutu.

    Scroll down,
    Mamutu + Signature Scanner = Emsisoft Anti-Malware!
While Mamutu is the ideal addition to your existing signature based antivirus software, Emsisoft Anti-Malware provides a signature based disk scanner beside all behavior based detection methods of Mamutu. This can be used to search and clean your PC from Malware infections.

Please read my post again , I am saying that B-HAVE isnt comparable to Mamutu (Behavior Based Malware Blocking).

B-HAVE is a behavior heuristics emulator that is included in Bitdefender engine.
It is like Eset advanced heuristics (ThreatSense), so B-HAVE and Mamutu complement each other.

I still think Mamutu could improve a lot, it still misses lots of malware.
BD has better detections than Ikarus. :D

I don't usually trust or like YouTube reviewers with the exception of a couple of people. In this recent review by PC Security EAM received an A+.

    It does alongside BD's ones.

You can see them during the updates.

I must say that Emsisoft team did an awesome job with their piece of software. With the previous versions,i've had nothing but problems:the icon didn't appear in the taskbar,Emsisoft didn't registered itself in the Windows Security Center, the laptop fell heavy and sometimes it use to hang or freeze. The C drive scan took about 1 1/2 hours. With the 7 version, everything is fast, light and snappy. The boot time isn't affected nor the web browsing. The C drive scan is now under 40 min.All in all,a winner and a keeper!Good job Emsisoft team and congratulations!:thumb: :thumb:

I'm love this new version but I can honestly say I had no issues with version 6 either. Now I'm just eagerly waiting to see when MRG will test it. Does anyone know when MRG will be performing their next flash test?

Here's another guy I like on You Tube. The other guy I usually check out in You Tube is Languy99's. But he has not done to many reviews as of late. Emsisoft did a great job in his version 6 review.

Does Emsisoft Anti-Malware 7.xx work OK with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i and 8.8i?

Thanks. As I suspected a lot of old files were touched, most likely because of signatures changes or removal.

B-HAVE has nothing to do with behavior blocking in the sense of watching applications running on the system in realtime like Mamutu does. B-HAVE is an extended emulator that "runs" files in a completely virtual environment environment as part of the signature scan. EAM 7.0 does use B-HAVE in the File Guard and on-demand scans. For real time protection it still uses its own behavior blocker (Mamutu).

I am using the latest version and it has slowed my system down. Win Explorer, Outlook etc take anywhere from 4 to 10 seconds to open when using only the file guard. If I turn off protection everything goes back to its normal snappy self.

Sorry forgot to mention that it is off..........
So only EAM is on when the problem occurs. EAM is off when the problem goes away:)

There got to be something else causing a conflict in your PC. I have Anti-Malware on an old 3.2GHz P4 and it works flawlessly.

Also MRG Effitas just tested Emsisoft 7 with their latest flash test. :D

This is what seems to have fixed my issue. It is a cut and paste from an email I received from Emsisoft support.

"please open Emsisoft Anti-Malware and go to the section Guard tab File Guard. There is a option "Scan only files with the following extensions:"

Also there is a list with extensions. Look in the list for the entry .DLL and remove it.

Then please restart Emsisoft Anti-Malware. The start time for Outlook and the Explorer are better now?"

  25. No, don't remove .DDL files. that's just silly.
