Very nice tip Djigi. Heck, I've been looking for something exactly like this. I remember in a thread awhile back mentioning how it'd be nice to have something like a Sandboxie/Hitman Pro combo that'd scan files before recovering them from the sandbox. This essentially accomplished just that.

Who needs a real-time AV with this measure in place?...

One thing though... I'm a little apprehensive about what I allow start/run & internet access to in Sandboxie restrictions. Also I notice when I use this method I get a popup from Sbie stating that HMP is trying to install some driver, which it blocks. The scan works just fine regardless. Not sure what that's about... but I don't like it. Maybe I'll just stick to right clicking. I rarely download stuff anyway.

Now if I could just get that darned API key so I could add VT Hash Check as an option as well... I'd really be in business. Maybe I'll resort to trying it with IE. Perhaps it simply doesn't play nicely with FF?

Also, regarding KSS (Kaspersky). When I try to install the thing nothing happens. I see a window flash up quickly, then vanish, and then that's it. I wanted to add it for yet another on demand option, but no dice.

How is Avira Securon? And how does Avira like WSA? Is the parental control good?

Good Afternoon ! Amit...Avira runs light and nimble...and I'm not using Parental Control...it's just a very stable no nonsense product...most German apps tend to be that way...and I like it that way...an excellent app from an excellent company. And Avira and WSA get along in perfect harmony. Sincerely...Securon

Started using AppGuard in Lockdown Mode. I am loving this product. :D

Along with Shadow Defender (on-demand), Windows 7 Firewall, and Hitman Pro (daily scans)

K-9 is way to sensitive and runs a processes. Just use Norton DNS and your all set.

    Network protection :

    Router firewall
Eset NOD32 SMART SECURITY firewall (configured at his maximum and set as interactive)

    Application protection :

Sandboxie for web brower, adobe etc
Eset NOD32 SMART SECURITY antivirus (default configuration)
Eset NOD32 SMART SECURITY hips (configured at his maximum and set as interactive)

    Software :

Chromium (better than google chrome) set to accept cookie only from site i decided, adblock, wot, ghostery.
(wot isn't really needed since the browser is sandboxed, and i don't see any utility of "securised" dns.)

    Keepass for internet password.

=> this setup doing well, eset is very light and very powerfull, that the best setup i found after year of testing. Note that ESET is doing well against CLT (as long as you have interactive HIPS).
