I noticed on DistroWatch the new Mageia has taken 2nd place for hits per week.

Is there anything significant about this new version that has so many people checking it out?

Its a fork of Mandriva. Its come into its own as a community maintained and driven Linux distro.

Also because it's simply a very good distro. Faultless when I tried it.

  4. I've tried Mageria, it was all-right. But I've gotten use to unity and the Mageria interface didn't do it for me. It's a pretty beefy distro though, in built java i& flash I believe is a plus but it was just missing that something I get from Ubuntu.
