To all those who have Defensewall or have used DefenseWall at some point - what do/did you find best?

    1. DefenseWall alone or in combo with another security program?
    2. And for those who have sampled & drifted away, why did you go elsewhere?

    1. Nothing just DefenseWall
    A. Seamless use/transparancy is what makes it so easy to use, allthough some find this advantage a disadvantage (I do not mind paralised malware laying around).
    B. Low noise/few pop-ups

    2. DefenseWall stayed on the laptop.
Still running on my mothers PC (Laptop = 5 years old, mother is 79 years old).

On x32 Home Premium + DefenseWall is a better deal than buying pro or ultimate. Om x64 I would buy a Win7 Pro and apply safe-admin or lazy admin tricks (download free PowerBroker to capture internet facing programs with minimal rights).

I use it with Sandboxie and Panda Cloud. Haven't gotten a peep out of Panda....ever. Never had any kind of Malware.

I expect I'm overprotected, but I like Sandboxie because it helps protect me in the event I do something stupid. I don't believe any of this software slows me down but it does require some thought when installing and updating software....and the frequent Firefox updates are a pain.

I like to support both Sandboxie and DefenseWall because each, I think, is owned by their developer who has a superb "niche" product and provides amazing support.

    I'm reevaluating use of Panda.

I am new user to Defensewall and have a question

Paralized Malware: Does it still remain that way if you disable Defensewall for any reason?

    Thanks

Yiiiiii. Like one of those Zombie horror movies. Good question. C'mon you guys. What happens if you turn DW off or uninstall it? Do those pesky malwares rise from their graves to haunt us?

I used DW off and on and try it again every few months, but I think early this year was the last time for me. The problem seems to consistently be when I use Chrome as my browser in combo with DW, the internet browsing gets slower and slower over the course of a day. I'm not sure why that is but it always happens. I remember when Chrome first came out there were some DW issues...but apparently some issues still exist, at least for me. For now I sometimes use SBIE and usually some sort of real time anti-malware...other times I just disable js and use the click to play (flash) in Chrome and browse that way.

How does it work with Srware iron, Dragon etc? If these works, then u can try installing chrome in program files directory.

My guess is Defensewall applies polices to executables run from appdata or other non program files location

Seems DefenseWall doesn't need any help. I've got Emsisoft AM6 from that birthday promotion that we had a while back - $8 for the year. But really, I think its my paranoia that keeps it installed. Especially now I know those zombies are just gum on the pavement.

To those who, like me, have a 2nd line of defense lurking in the shadows, can we justify it's existence in our C-Drives apart from a warm fuzzy psychological benefit?

Did you notified me about this issue? If I'm unaware of it, I can't fix. Also, looks like it's very specific to your computer and it can be solved only with total cooperation. If you are ready to start, I'm always ready help.

Nope, wrong guess. It apples policies only according untrusted applications list. It contains browsers, e-mail, IM, IRC, P2P, VoIP and multimedia clients.

I have the exact same setup as you on our Win 7 32bit laptop and it probably is psychological as no matter what kind of crap my wife clicks on, DW has been bulletproof to the point of boring. I miss the old days of cleaning the pc etc. :). DW is the gold standard of protection and I just reupped for another year.
