Tutorial for rescue HD

    Need tutorial for learning the procedures of rescuing OS from a failed HDD and restoring the OS back to its original HDD.

    I don't know if anyone specifically has a tutortial, but you may want to clarify your request as well as what version of software you are using

    The HD of my laptop died the other day.
    BIOS could recognize its existence but it wont boot.
    I want to save the OS on it.
    So, I need first a software (don't know what software) to save the OS and second a tutorial to learn how to save the OS.
    Please tell me what software to use for this purpose.

    About the rescue procedures.
    Can the rescue process run repeatedly?
    Can it run again if the first or even the second run fails?
