Yes. :D As soon as you "step" into the forum, you get the old contagion. I even tried AVG 2013. There's also the "Wilders paranoia" kicking in. I 've been running without AV for probably more than a year. Now that i started reading Wilders again, i started thinking about AV again. I must fight it! :D

P.S.: The forum must provide a "Wilders anonymous" corner, where security addicted and paranoid users can go and talk about their problem openly, without shame and seek solidarity.

Good Evening ! Just installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013...running light and nimble...no bloat...and with AppGuard...and WSA Essentials...and Windows Firewall everything is as smooth as Velvet. Only Con;Kaspersky wants you to remove WSA when installing...they have to be less stringent in their approach to co-operating with other competitors apps...and causing less stress to their customer base. Sincerely...Securon

I'm playing with both KIS 2013 and Avast Pro 7 with Windows firewall. I am not sure what I will end up on each computer. Both are running without a hitch. It may depend upon whether or not one or both of them can make a fix so that one can print from inside the Safe Money/Zone.

I like both AVs and almost wish one would cause problems.

I will stick with MBAM Pro, and Win Patrol forever.

    Jerry

Thank you. Never needed more. Overkill does not necessarily mean your better protected. I also have an arsenal of tools on a USB stick. Just wish Chrome would release a version with do not track built in. Tried DoNot Track Plus and noticed it blocked way too much. Open for any recommendations also.

You make an image of your sys partition. Then you have absolute guarantee that you can return your system to the state of the image however your system is changed or even crashed to unbootable state.

If things go south, you'll be up and running in the few minutes it takes to load the saved image. You have to keep your images up-to-date to retrieve everything. I save images and any other back-up files onto a dedicated external hard drive that is unplugged most of the time.
