I am trying out Panda AV 2013 and am having trouble setting exclusions for files. When I select a file, the program goes back to the interface but does not set the exclusion. It also locks up for about five or ten seconds. Strangely, I am able to set an exclusion for a directory. I thought maybe I was having a conflict with MBAM Pro, but I uninstalled it and the behavior is still there.

I know this is not a support forum, but I just wanted to check to see if the file exclusions are working for anyone else?

 

The sig updates are not "massive" and it relies on the cloud, but Panda updates are generally swift. First full speed scan for me was about 25 or so minutes while the quick scan was 10-15 seconds.

As for the installer size, to be honest it does not matter due to its small size and downloads files. Product will finish download before you can blink.

Hi Cloud, you say Truprevent was downsized greatly in PCAV, do you mean it detects less regarding the behavioral blocker and behavioral analysis?

its been a while I tried panda. i really want to check out this release

No, but you can still do that with its build-in access control.

Currently using Panda Internet Security 2013...very impressed with the product...and the way it's been configured...the Gui colour scheme is superb...and it's layout I've found to be very intuitive and user friendly. I ran a full scan and some tracking cookies and some malware were found, I forwarded the suspected malware to Panda Labs. All in all it's still to early to make a definitive conclussion...since I'm accustomed to using Panda Cloud Anti-Virus Pro...and I've been so far suitably impressed. I'm going to install the PGP 2013 tonight after the kids go to sleep. Thanks to PBUST for the opportunity. I currently have Kaspersky 2012 so that's what I'll make any comparisons to.

 

PGB is not at all heavy on my laptop but browsing is slower than before . My Experience though. I really like it and i am waiting to settle down and see what happens in a few days

 

I am now on PIS2013 (thank you pbust) and the first impression is very positive. it's not heavy at all, just browsing is a bit slower but nothing to be bothered about. the "enable CPU load management" option is a nice plus (wonder why it is disabled by default). the GUI is also nice, Windows 8 style.

 

What I had meant is TruPrevent was optimized to fit Panda Cloud.

It goes without saying that this is for active Wilders users only, so please don't create a new Wilders account just to get a license 'cause you won't

 

I don't see the big deal with the UI. It looks good to me. I would like to see an option to make the categories or icons in the UI smaller though if there is not an option for that already.

 

Please give me a license then. I would love to try Panda. They have made huge improvements over the past few years. I will send you a PM.

 

They probably are real wilders members in incognito mode,who are currently using NIS 2013 ,and want to see what a real GUI should look like ,but dont like to tell any one

Ok, trip report. The install went fine, finding where to get the install from was a bit tricky though. I had a Panda account but I couldn't log in and just download the software. I had to buy something to get the software. Instead I just googled Panda software and installed the trial or demo and used the key PBust gave me.

I'm stupid at math, but it seems like Panda Global Protection 2013 is running lighter than Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Kaspersky runs its main processes in two big chunks and Panda spreads the wealth over 7+ smaller processes. Kind of how say Google chrome runs many smaller processes where Opera browser runs one larger monolithic process. **Note to Pbust... take a look at the PavPrSrv.exe *32 process...the description is still in Spanish.**

I like the GUI, like others have said it does look a little Win8 ish. There's a lot of stuff to click on for the curious, and I'm definitely in that boat. I wish the tune up let me choose which browser I want to secure and not just Internet Explorer (who uses that? lol). The 'safe browser' link looks like it brings up Firefox on a VBox image? I didn't install it because I don't really need that. What does the Advanced scan with ActiveScan Cleaner technology do? It's the crosshair picture on the Scan menu. I clicked on that and ran a scan but it had another module to load and install. No big deal, I'm just not super sure as to what it does differently than the regular scans.

I played a bunch of Street Fighter IV on Steam without any special configuration changes, I didn't have to punch any special holes in the firewall and online play was fine. I'll try more games later, but its A+ so far from this user!

Also Panda really wants you to like them on Facebook or Twitter. When I log in later, I'll do it.

 

Any worries about PC Magazines not so good review of Panda Antivirus Pro 2013? I don't understand how it could have done so bad. Panda Cloud AV has received good reviews from them in the past, and the 2012 versions seem to have always done well in AV Comparative tests.

CONS
So-so scores in PCMag's malware blocking test. Web-based protection didn't block download of most threats. Firewall program control disabled by default. Easily disabled by turning off its services.

 

It looks good better then the 2012 build , i hope too get also a license for the 2013 from pbust.
