    Simply put.

Program is not how it used to be and has lost most of its charm in V8. This is what it seems like to me anyway. :ouch:

Yes, I thought same, just with next new instalation... change that files from x86 to Program Files.. But I had already 3 times Twister on my system and lost taste for fourth time...Looks, like it has really light impact on system, but I had some false positves already...for sure was that not virus, was legal part of ASUS software. But maby will try next time again...with Final Version. Best regards and thank you for info. :thumb: :)

I am not really having any of the issues some of you guys are having. If I had one complaint, it would be I wish the program used a little less CPU Time. Other than that, seems to work well.

They really need better servers. At the rate I'm downloading, it say it will take 6 hours.

Edit: Now it's saying 7 hours. Guess I'll try to grab it tomorrow.

Filseclab gave me a link to a different filup.exe (the twister updater)I installed and now able to update :).I dont know if/when this updater will be incorporated into current builds of twister or whether it was a special build for me.Ive emailed and await reply, though i can give you the link through pm if you want to try it.Cant fault the support ,and im liking twister regardless of the false positives.

I like this program with one exception, uses too much CPU time. Hopefully they can get that under control prior to release.

Twister now is a CPU hog? Oh dear, what a sad destiny... :'(

Why do they have to destroy the strong points of good products with new versions? Twister used to be as light as a feather... So now it went down the path of ZA and Kerio.

There is nothing that i hate more than background programs that eat a lot of CPU. I don't care about RAM anymore, but CPU is important.

    Sigh.

Its CPU use is not terrible, but heavier than many. It is very light in terms of RAM, peak RAM, VM use, and disk io. I'm hoping they get the cpu down before the final release.

Thanks for the review clocks. What can i say... If they make the CPU usage light like it was in the past, i will try it again too. I have 8GB RAM, so i don't care about RAM. But i encode video often and every drop of CPU power is valuable.

One thing I notice when using Twister beta, is periodically my mouse pointer will start jumping around, and get really laggy. I can't say for sure it is Twister, but if I exit out of Twister, the problem immediately stops.

Wow, very complete protection, but also wow about CPU usage. And i am using the classic skin, not the "intelligent with animation". Without cloud either. When i load a new browser page, CPU spikes to 13% and i 've a 6-core CPU!

See you later Twister! What a shame. I hope they will bring CPU usage down.

Anyone knows what "ismart technology" is? I hope it's like Avast's feature that it makes a database with already scanned files so that it won't scan them again and again. Running full test in hope that this is it. Too many option in there, with zero documentation. If they were to bring CPU down, i 'd definitely use it. This is like running a HIPS+AV.

Wow, as per best tradition, Twister's heuristic set on max, is making a killing of several innocent files of mine :). That a boy! Got get them! Aggressive as always. Anything that looks suspicious IS sent to jail! LOLOLOL! :D

EDIT: Did they remove the option to submit the false positive? I can't find it. There is a "query threat", but goes to Filseclab's site and says "Coming soon". I 've got 41 false positives so far and i am not even half way through.

EDIT 2: Wow, on max heuristics Twister is just plain paranoid. You can be sure that you aren't infected if it finds nothing. It has massacred a game's files and also flagged mkvmerge and TSMuxerGUI.exe.

Not bad! Out of the 45, 43 are heuristic detections as "suspicious". I suppose putting heuristics back on default, they would be less. Only 2 were real false positives.

Unfortunately, CPU spikes when browsing continue... Will wait for update.
