System Cleaner- add some items

Hi,

WSA system cleaner does not clean Firefox cookies, internet history, download history, session, saved form information, saved passwords, compact databases.
Also nothing on Google Chrome and Opera.

Can those items be included in WSA system cleaner?

I recommend to post all ideas as regards WSA on the Webroot Community http://community.webroot.com/ because Webroot's techies are not visiting here at the Wilders except Joe who is always doing his utmost but in his position he has definitely other things to do. On the community there is a section called Ideas Exchange where you can post your suggestions.

As for the topic, even if WSA's in-built cleaner seems quite comprehensive and safe to use I personally rely on CCleaner. I have nothing against WSA's cleaner but I prefer a specialized tool. Just my two cents ...

 

But this is the Official Prevx forum. And WSA is now Prevx. Also I like Wilders so much. I believe Joe help me here as much as he can. He'll surely pass on my suggestion on to the development team.

I've tested in my pc with both Ccleaner and WSA. After cleaning with Ccleaner, WSA found nothing to clean. But after cleaning with WSA, Ccleaner found the ones I mentioned in post #1. So I think WSA system cleaner is not far behind than a specialized tool like Ccleaner. And if Joe takes my suggestion seriously enough to implement it in WSA then users of WSA will no longer have to use specialized tools like Ccleaner, at least in cleaning aspect.

I'd also suggest to add registry cleaning component in WSA system cleaner. Then WSA will become a more complete suite.

I believe the System Cleaner in WSA-E/C is a stripped down version of Webroot's earlier product called 'Window Washer'. As time goes on, improvements and additions are being added to this component.

Pegas' suggestion is valid as any ideas will get pushed through to development teams quicker as they don't visit here that much. Joe, by the way, is lead software engineer for the WSA range of programs. He does post in the other forums too, when he has time.

No I like posting here and I truly believe Joe will always be kind enough to take care of any valid suggestions and requests.

 

Ah thanks a lot. Oh and Ccleaner also found many files from 'Windows Explorer Recent Documents' after WSA cleaned. So this item could also be added.

 

Not wanting to rock the boat here but I feel WSA is best used as an AV. There are cleaners available that are free such as CCleaner that can be enhanced & the smaller but still good Xleaner. If you aren’t careful with cleaning people get well upset when they don't save passwords, & like cookies etc. The last login feature in the cleaner now on WSA 'can' mess up login's on Win7.

I personally like zapping all history, cookies & anything I can think of to oblivion daily but the last thing I think Webroot want is a forum full of people with issues of things cleaned they wanted to keep. More is not always better?

Yes it did mess up the auto login`s by removing them. There should be an option not to do so.

 

You should be able to unselect them from the cleanup settings without a problem.

I have a suggestion - leave all the cleaning to someone else - there are free products which does a great job.

Concentrate on the security part - wherer You are the greatest!

A plus effect is that Webroot products will remain small and fast.

I have the same problem using IE-8. What setting / settings do you unselect so it doesn't mess up the auto logins?
