The let down is from thinking the url filter is something more than a anti-phishing filter.

    :D :D :D

    Not a fact!

Many try out other software. Why am I different for trying PCA?

BTW, I have returned to MSE.

it IS more than simply anti-phishing. It also blocks malware and exploit URLs.

In all of the discussions on the url filter why wasn't it mentioned that it blocked malware and exploits? Please don't leave out important info.

We never said otherwise. I believe you were the one who assumed it would only block phishing pages.

I know this for a fact that the url filter does block url exploits. Just not sure why it's not included without the toolbar thing. I always have to uninstall the toolbar and I leave the url filter along with the av module.

@IceCube Why constantly remove the URL Filter whenever Panda is uninstalled? Some users are fine with it because they only perform this process once compared to those that...
When I test out other AVs I use "try & decide" (Acronis) or in a clean VM. I leave the URL Filter behind when installing an AV on the host. If Panda is only going to remain on the system for less than 72 hours, why bother? You could disable the toolbar?

@JoeBlack I believe this website and program itself are clean of malware. I do recall reading that it asks to install a toolbar which includes facemoods. Facemoods is a PUP or adware detection. I can run the installer myself and provide more info if you like.

Installed it,and doesn't include any toolbar now.So Panda should take some measures about it.

Panda Cloud does not find malware upon scanning the file. Dr Web link scanner does not either. Virustotal finds that only 1 of 41 (ESET-NOD32) shows as malware. Safe to say that it's an FP.

I didn't say that the URL Filter blocked it for that reason. I meant only to provide insight on the installer.

Curiosity question. When I ran PCAV 1.51 it showed cookies detected and neutralized in the log. Now I don't see that anymore with 2.0 Optimized Scans. Does Panda now regard cookie detection a waste of time? I'm personally not overly concerned by the change. I'm just curious as to why they don't show in the logs now. EDIT: I am now running a full scan for the first time since updating to 2.0 and neutralized cookies are showing up at the 40% completed mark. Go figure?

    Hello all,

It seems with my system here, no matter what I do, I just cannot get the URL filter to work. I am on IE( (only browser I am using at the moment). I have tried totally terminating all my system tray apps, including the security apps, but I always fail the panda test URL link. The filtering is running as I see it in process hacker, it just does not block anything.

Is this what you get? This website is for testing purposes only.

If Panda Cloud Antivirus Web & URL filtering is active, you should not see this web page loaded in your browser except if you bypassed the filter.

I wonder if the problem is a byproduct of auto upgrading from 1.51 instead of installing from scratch? I cannot find anything regarding URL filtering in the help files.

Well, I started off with a new install. and also tried over the top and uninstall/reinstall. Even tried with and without toolbar. Nothing I tried worked.

Can you PM me a list of running processes/programs?
Did you ever try the testurl before and bypassed it by any chance (chekbox and continue)?

I could never figure out how to bypass it, so unless it installs bypassed, that should not be a problem. I will pm you that list in a few minutes, just remember that I tried installing and running with every nonessential process shut down.
