this is MP1 official version, you don't need to reinstall with the same build.
P/s: do you like the new Kaspersky Now tile in Win. 8 start screen?

    Re: KAV/KIS 2013 Beta

I see, MP1 official version, I'll keep an eye on this forum thread about the build numbers, just to be sure.

    About the Karspersky Now tile:
I don't know about any tile start screens :D , I'm still using Windows 7 ultimate x64. And I think I will wait a while before using Windows 8 or I wait till windows 9 comes along and see whats happening with that.
I just like the start button and the normal desktop, which is also in windows 8, well maybe not the startbutton, but I wish the metro/tablet ui was an option and not forced.
Anyway, I'll try to keep an open mind about the metro/tablet/tile UI of Windows 8.

    Re: KAV/KIS 2013 Beta

    something more to knows :D
    Code:
IMPROVEMENTS · Support for Microsoft Windows 8 has been added. ·
Postponed launch of Kaspersky Anti-Virus at the startup of the operating system has been implemented in order to reduce the operating system's booting time. · A module for blocking dangerous websites has been added to Web Anti-Virus, which replaces an already loaded suspicious or phishing website with a page showing a danger warning in case the page's status is defined after it is loaded. ·
The application's impact on the operating system's performance has been reduced; the amount of computer resources consumed by the application has also been reduced. Particularly, the application's impact on the booting and closing time of the operating system has been reduced, as well as on the time expended by the system for switching to waiting mode and sleep mode and on the speed of downloading files and loading web pages on the Internet. ·
A Metro-style application named Kaspersky Now has been released for Microsoft Windows 8. Kaspersky Now delivers news from the website securelist.com to keep you informed of all crucial events in the domain of data security and warn you of emerging virus outbreaks. If you have Kaspersky Anti-Virus installed on your computer, Kaspersky Now displays the current protection status of your computer and allows running the main components of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, such as Scan, Update, Parental Control, and others.

Wasn't one of the advantages of Windows 8 that certified antivirus products could load before everything else to be able to detect nasty malware? Strange that Kaspersky doesn't want to take advantage of that.

    It's disabled by default.

ELAM (early load) is utilized on Win8 by def.- what's more I don't think enabling the option above disables ELAM as they refer to different technologies AFAIK- ELAM refers to early loading of drivers during win boot, option above refers to service startup.

Is that the final version? It's getting annoying now. All this confusion.

old reply in this topic already answer your question: You can use 2010/2011/2012 activation code with this version
    Yep, final version
I think final version needs a hot fix before release to customer, some errors still exist (Firefox, Chrome can't start on Win8, etc...)

    Re: KAV/KIS 2013 Beta

To avoid the confusion, wait until 2013 appears on official kaspersky.com website (or your regional kaspersky website).
This is mainly why I'm against posting of links to leaked releases, no matter how official the servers containing them are. But as the moderators here don't have any objections, neither can I.

    You are right.

@thanhtai: Please, for God's sake, stop calling it the final version. You are causing a lot of confusion by saying that. Thank you.

Annoyingly - all security vendors do this now - it's released exclusively on Download.com, today. It's funny how security vendors all crawl over each other to make sure they get an exclusive on Download.com!

    Build is: 13.0.1.4190

It will be fully compatible with Windows 8 in October when the public launch of Windows 8, not now.

Would a Wilders moderator care to comment on their stance on issues such as this?

KIS2013 seems to have been released to the US public now, what with both the trial KIS2013 and paid version being available to download via usa.kasperksy.com :

The logic behind KL's marketing department's methods in deciding where products gets released and when baffles me. I'd have thought the global website would have been first followed by the localisations. But hey, I don't sit in their marketing office...

And I was expecting it to be much lighter than its predecessor. Ah, well... :doubt:
