After getting tired of testing so many various AV's, etc., I am settling upon the following that I am using now:

Avira Premium 2012, Private Firewall 7.0271 with Process detection set to medium, and Spywareblaster for a simple but pretty good spyware bandaid.

Simple but effective, without over doing it. I DO like CIS though, but I am waiting to try their version 6 when it is released. Otherwise, current setup is fine for me.

:thumb::thumb: Eset has never let me down.

Recommended (in case the beta is down):
    8.26.56.26 (new beta)
    156.154.70.22 (old DNS)

Could Toolwiz Time Freeze be an (free) alternative replacement for Shadow Defender?
Does anyone of you used Toolwiz Time Freeze and what do you think about it?

I've used it a few times, never had any problems with it. I prefer using Sandboxie, though, for isolation.

I just removed Online Armor from the last machine I had it on.
Now running Comodo FW D+ on a couple W7 boxes and one XP box.

I use and test it for some time and I really liked.
I see a lot of you use the Shadow defender who is not free, and I think the Time Freeze excellent free program that is a good alternative to paid programs like Shadow Defender.
I use it occasionally when testing a program or something similar ...

Thanks for the Time Freeze forum link ...:thumb:

"Only" 28?! Goodness gracious! I would feel horrified to see that many things running. lol.

11 in idle here. 5 more when Sandboxie is running (4 Sandboxie services plus that program).

On XP with low specs, granted.

On Windows 7, on clean install, there are more than 30 running, so 28 (25 if I don't count Sandboxie and Launchy) is not that much for this system.
Although number of processes is not the only indicator of system responsiveness.
