    The only place I ever found that was in the client GUI, not within ERAC (which is the first thing admins use and where they spend 99% of their time).

    Maybe you have ver 5? I am still on the Business ver 4.x.

    The Self-Defense setting is just one example. There are hundreds more that are not documented ANYWHERE.

    The bottom line is that policy settings need to be documented within ERAC. Ideally it should be done much like Microsoft's group policy editor, where there is an EXPLAIN tab that documents EVERY setting. At least that's how I'd do it...

    We are on ESET Endpoint Antivirus V5 (Server 5.0.122 / Console 5.0.122)

    I would recommend moving to the Server versions above (You can still keep a mixture of Version 4 and Version 5 clients)

    But Self Defence IS documented, in the ESET NOD32/Endpoint manual.
    Could you pick another example? - I can't think of any others on the top of my head:doubt:

    Business ver 5 is not yet available for Labtech customers.

    So we're on different platforms. Maybe ver 5 is better documented. Does the console tool (ERAC) now have explanations for all the policy settings? Or do you still refer to the agent GUI?

    That's exactly how it should be done!

    Version 5 is documented.

    At present, it looks as though the policy settings can be found (But they are all in the Client Manuals - ESET NOD32/Endpoint)

    The solution is this;

    ESET to document the policies in the "Correct" place (Being in the ERAC Guide)

    And for now, for users to refer to the Client Manual to find what you need. As its very likely to be in there.

    So they still have not put the policy explanations in the ERAC :( Another problem is that the policy hierarchy tree is quite different at times when comparing policy settings in ERAC vs client GUI. That makes it harder to finds things, if they can even be found.
