Keepass sync'd between PC and Mac

Like many others, I keep my Keepass database in my dropbox folder so that I can access it from my PC desktop and Mac laptop.

I've been using Keepass v1 for many years and haven't upgraded to v2 because of the limitation with KeepassX on the mac (it doesn't read v2 database).

KeepassX recently released an Alpha2 version that reads the Keepass v2 database. I've toyed around with it, but given how slow development has been on KeepassX (not nearly as quick/robust as Keepass), I'm reluctant to completely migrate to v2, even though I want to upgrade so I can take advantage of the benefits that come with v2.

So I guess I'm waiting for a solid solution to run Keepass on the Mac since I access my database so frequently from both machines. I've tried running Keepass with mono, which is another solution for Mac (and Linux) but it runs awfully slow on my Mac. KeepassX runs fine, but I'm reluctant to upgrade to the Alpha2 version because it is not a final release...and I don't like to take ANY chances with my password database (it's the gateway to everything else).

Anyone else running the same Keepass database in PC and Mac? Any suggestions for upgrading to Keepass v2? Or any other recommendations/suggestions? I'm not sure what to do, other than to stick with Keepass v1.

 

I been using LastPass for 2 years without any issues. Its easy to import your database too.

Lastpass and xmarks work like a charm to sync my bookmarks and login data across pretty much whatever I wish.

 

I use Keepass v2 on Linux, OS X and Windows. It does require that you install mono.

Edit to clarify: Only Linux or OS X need mono to run Keepass.

I've been using KP v2 with Linux and Windows, synched with SpiderOak, no problems at all. Also, I began using v2 for the anti-logging Two-Channel Auto-Type Obfuscation feature which also works in Linux.

hey I didnt know it had built in protection against Keyloggers.

OP might just want to stick with KeePass then?

I also started using Keepass2 again I wanted to store all of my Important passes with it, never know with lastpass but i think Lastpass is secure enough for my bs sites.

 

I tried Keepass with mono on my mac and it runs very slow. Had to end up switching back to just using KeepassX (which requires Keepass v1).

I'll try the mono solution again and see if I can figure out why it's running so slow on the mac.

 

The Two-Channel Auto-Type Obfuscation feature is not enabled by default but must be enabled for each entry. Below is a link that explains the technology.
So far it works with every entry including PayPal.
