    Hello,

I've a computer which is Windows 2000 SP4. It could been installed eea5 v5.0.2126, no any error message during installation. And everything seems fine after eea5 launch. But if reboot the system, it will hangs in the windows boot screen, not yet saw logon dialog.

It's a clean installation. Not upgrade from older NOD32 and no other antivirus software in it. And it used all of default eea5 settings. I don't change any settings.

I've try to disable HIPS, and the problem was gone. If enabled HIPS, the situation come back again.

Could anyone teach me how to fix it? Thank you.

    Hello,

Is this Windows 2000 desktop or server edition? Either way, you should probably disable the scanning of network drives, as well as disable the start up scanner. To do so, if the machine never does log in, you will need to uninstall ESET Endpoint Antivirus, then reinstall it with a pre-configured local install package, as shown here.

If you are referring to a server, ideally you would install ESET File Security for Windows Server. This will automatically configure itself for a server installation.

    Thanks,

    Matt

It's a server edition. I've try to disable 'start real-time file system protection automatically', but it still hang in boot screen when Windows 2000 startup. Like I said, if un-check 'Enable HIPS', the system could boot normal. So I really think it's about HIPS issue.

Is it free for eea license?
