I can't give you the dump file, I am afraid, as I have deleted it already. However, what I do know is, that the driver which caused the BSOD is called "secdrv.sys."

    I am using Windows 7 x64 Home Premium SP1.

And the BSOD struck right after installing Kingsoft.

    Thanks for using Kingsoft Antivirus.

Sorry, I already reimaged HDD and installed Kingsoft along with Comodo FW and it's running light as can be. Not a 'scientific' observation, I know, but we all know our systems pretty well, and when pgms start opening slow and internet is regularly slower, it is noticeable.

I have a second HDD where I store all data, and have a folder called "Software" which has downloads of all the latest versions of pgms I use. Each icon is different for each pgm (View is 'Tiles'). When I had Roboscan installed, and went to this folder, it talk quite a while for all the icons to change from a generic marker to the actual icons. With Kingsoft installed, this is instantaneous. Not a deal-breaker by any means, but it was frustarting to know something was hanging up the sytem this way. Uninstalled Roboscan, and it was instant. Re-imaged HDD, installed King and it was still instant.

Opening Libreoffice was much faster with King, as was opening first occurence of Paint.net and other pgms.

I hope King does well in any upcoming AV-Com and VB100 tests.

So many questions, hahah...:D Hope following informations will give you some help.

    · Web Defense - Protecting browser security while users surfing online, it blocks malicious script trojan site, and it supports Chrome, IE, firefox browsers etc.

    · IM Defense - Protecting users' computer security while send files with IM software, like MSN, ICQ, AOL etc.

    · Video Defense - It does not protect the online web video like youtube, it protects video which needs to install special players for it, like the install_flash_player.exe here: http://www.kingsoftsecurity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=686&start=100#p3317 . The player should be virus, and it will be put into a sandbox. After watching video, it will be removed safely.

    · Download Shield - Block suspicious files away from being downloaded to computer, the supported browsers contain Chrome, IE, firefox etc as Web defense.

Hm, after closing Yotube full screen mode i see a small yellow square on Kingsoft trey icon. Is this Video Defense?

Also, will there ever be utomatic cleaning mode as an option for real-time part?
You can select Automatic or Manual for On-Demand but not for realtime.
It would be nice to be able to set to automatic for less knowledgeable users that don't know how to deal with detected malware.

    Hi Selina,

Thanks for answering questions. Because of language some answers are ambiguous, so may I clarify further?

Does web defense block malicious scripts themselves, or is it a URL block list that blocks only known malicious sites?

The URL to the video trojan was truncated, and takes me to the Kingsoft homepage, but I believe I understand. That's an interesting feature, I guess that's for the kind of user who will run anything without caution.

Would the web defense detect a drive-by-download of a trojan, e.g. from a Blackhole exploit kit?

I would test myself but I'm shockingly away from computers for a change.

    thanks,
    RJK.

can we get an option so that kingsoft doesnt start scanning the usb drive when we insert it - instead we get an option to choose if we want to scan or not

Not really needed when you aren't vulnerable to USB autoruns, nor when you only insert your own USB sticks that never leave the house.

The message with a popup window that needs to be closed upon insertion of a USB drive is an unnecessary step regardless. I don't want to be aware of my AV in every interaction.

You can turn off the USB Defense if you do not want your USB drive scanned everytime while it insert.
If you would like use USB defense again, just turn on it, and you can also use USB Drives Scan on Virus Scan panel at any time.

Because the number of our end users is large, it's impossible to check all of the fp reported. Only the file been reported more than others will be checked. That's why we receive FP reporting on our forum.

well, I think you need a automatic one.
once you inject the USB disk, the defense start and, if you eject it, the defense close. the behavior of injecting/ejecting USB disk is a switch.
