Try executing the files in a controlled environment. Many suites will detect more samples when run then they will with an on-demand scan. Also, that information is more important when trying to figure out which suite will protect users better.

Or executing them from their source with protection on.

Right click 'scan-a-pile' tests have not been accurate for about a decade.

I could care less if the new GUI looks like others, as long as the program works.

PS I swear this forum looks just like a few others I visit.:argh:

Please, don't "give me" this kind of screenshots,it's embarrassing.A screenshot like this i can post myself too in a peaceful minute for cfp.exe.But this doesn't mean that its behavior is NOT like i said. And not only for me.

so will this be the annoying thing commodo is currently. i would like to recc it to some as a free setup BUT i simply can not with its default deny. the average person can not be bothered to answer a million questions they simply get annoyed then i get a call to remove this as fast as possible. otherwise its a really nice program

also looks like they killed the free internet security version only the free av now..hmm looks like the part of comodo site i went to only offered the 19$ version, it seems i found the free internet security version

Where do you get that free no more, idea?

I gather you found it, reading your edits.

    http://antivirus.comodo.com/

they only seem to offer the normal av free on that page. i did find another page where they do offer the internet security free but seems a bit misleading there. even when you click the home tab on top is shows the differences and makes no mention of the free is.

Trust me, it's definitely still free and will continue to be free.

Here is the download page for free version of Comodo Internet Security, Comodo Firewall, and Comodo Antivirus.

It is a matter of debate, just using context scans over piles of malwares, CAV detection average rate is between 75-85%, EAM for example is around 90-95%, WSA around 40-60%.

Of course, my test are not professional ones.

Defense+ doesn't generate millions of popups if properly tweaked, in the case you are installing an unknown (by comodo) software, then it generate many.

    Re: Comodo 6 screenshots. how's that ?!

Comodo AV 6 will have a permanent cache file so there would be a huge improvement in the performance, egemen also commented another improvements in CAV (like the file rating system, improvement in detections...) but I can't remember all of them anyway those are in Comodo forums.

BTW Melih has said that Comodo Internet Security 6 will be free, like it is now.

The firewall is insignificant for v5 or newer version, because the default configuration for CIS allows all outbound connections.

The staff said v6 is the same as v5.

I believe these are the Beta steps:

CEO beta copy gets issued out first - Melih uses it
Moderator beta copy gets issued out second - Melih gives it the ok, Moderators get to test
Community members get the beta copy last - Once moderators have reported the major bugs, then the community beta is issued.

    Probably not for everyone

But, I think you'll have to be a member of the community forum, if you want to get your hands on a beta copy.

    Question is...When?
