OK. Does that mean one has no choice but to click on the 'Update' icon, or will it update itself automatically without user intervention. In my experience, they are not mutually exclusive, but I thought I would ask.

For instance, with Panda one can manually update or wait for an auto update from the servers.

I don't get it why don't you register Kingsoft Cloud 2012 as anti-spyware application in Windows Security Center. It's so annoying to manually turn off notifications when we know it also detects spyware. So why not register it as such?

Yes, we plan to register KAV as antispyware, in next release.

I'd like to report 2 problems...

Trusting items doesn't seem to be possible. Yesterday KAV detected a component of Samsung Kies as abnormal. When i clicked "Trust" button it said to uncheck in order to confirm it is trusted. I've unchecked the checkmark in front of it and clicked Trust again. But it kept on saying to uncheck it.

KAV detected a false positive on a component of this program:
    http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as

It's a Samsung Kies program to update Samsung smartphones. I've submitted it as false positive through program but i've reported it here as well.

Why antispyware? Should Kingsoft Antivirus not be registered as Antivirus?:doubt:

Because in the Action Centre it registers itself as an antivirus but not antispyware.

Why do you think it's false positive? I've checked the registry and noticed, the reported Run entry pointed to KiesAirMessage.exe, which doesn't exist. I think this is an invalid startup entries, not a false positive.

I'd like to see it tested in AV-Test and AV-Comparatives. I hope it will get submited for testing soon...

I installed it right after installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and it gave me an immediate BSOD, so I uninstalled it straight away.

He was just kidding you about which AV actually caused the BSOD.

    hello everyone,

first of all, i think kingsoft antivirus 2012 is a great product and it has low impact on system resources and good detection rate. i'm using it aside with mse 4. i have tested this combo with some malware and it did really good.

so my question is, on my image attached ,when some decision had made (allow or denied) where can i reverse this setting when i have checked "remember my selection"? i find no list or similar to reverse the decision.

Was playing around with Roboscan (Bitdefender engine + it's own) and decided to see if Kingsoft could run alongside it OK--they say on their website:

    Compatibility

Perfectly Working with Other Antivirus, Provides Outstanding Protection to End Users.

Afterwards, I got multiple crashes while using browsers IE and FF. Like Sher above, I uninstalled the Kingsoft.

But as a standalone, it is very light and may be a good choice teamed up with Comodo. (I tried them together on imaged HDD). I just would like to see some Kingsoft tests published.

Thanks X7x5! The ones by winsev7nholic were very illuminating and UP TO DATE! (Kingsoft Free Antivirus 2012 SP4.0 with Comodo Firewall). I'd still like to see AV Comparatives and the rest test this product, but it seems like a pretty good choice right now. I would only use the Kingsoft AV-Comodo FW combo right now-- my experience with using King with Roboscan wasn't very good. But I'm not going to the dark corners of the web--just use it for shopping, etc. I think I'll leave Kingsoft Av and Comodo FW on for awhile and see how it goes. BTW, I'm using an older PC I put together, with a SINGLE-core processor and Win XP, so if anything I test is light on my system, I can only imagine how it runs on a quad-core! As soon as I finalize my choices, I'll throw together a better PC--I've had the parts sitting about for 18 months or so--I'm a real procrastinator!

Maybe add a exclusion list for other programs running? I didn't see one in the menu. I have WSA and Kingsoft running a long side each other, when WSA recognizes a virus and wants to delete it, Kingsoft jumps in and tries to block WSA.

We have test the compatibility of Kingsoft Antivirus and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 before and the result is OK, so can you please send us the system dump for analyse? You can get the dump file "%SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP" or "%SystemRoot%\Minidump" if it set before. Please refer to the attached screenshot.

And which OS do you use? The language is? Other speicific operations or other special circumstances?

    Thanks.
