    Hi Marcos,

May I know tentative schedule to release this so called service pack or patch? If it is soon, i would like to wait for deploying some stations (about 40s left).

    Thanks

I was having the same problems when I installed it on an Asus laptop. I uninstalled it and the problems went away...

just wondering why the 'hot fix' isn't posted here for people to easily get? better yet, why isn't it automatically sent down the pipe??

Because it has not passed QA tests yet and is not certified yet. We provide it on demand to those having issues with Device control and who cannot afford disabling it until the next service build is released.

For your information, I have installed the hot fix on the most computers that I had problems with during last week and it works very well for a week now, no blue screens.

    Hi Marcos,

Appreciate if you can speak to ESET to expedite for fixes release date. For time being, I would like to request to help me send your hotfix by email? I would like to run on one PC in network urgently.

    Thanks

    Had similar issue.

Installed latest ESET Endpoint Antivirus 5.0.2122 on WinXP computer. Computer freezes when connecting any external hard drive. Indicates it is being read but does not show up in drive list under My Computer. No such problems with removable flash drives.

Disabled device control integration as suggested here with no effect whatsoever. However, booting in safe mode works with external drive.

Would appreciate if someone could provide the hotfix.

This sounds like an issue with one of the known problematic drivers mentioned here (the list may not be complete, it contains only known drivers).

I had an issue where if I disabled device control integration, it wasn't enough to prevent the machine from crashing. Upon reboot, it was enabled again.

I had to boot in Safe Mode and temporarily uninstall Endpoint Antivirus first. I then booted normally, installed Endpoint Antivirus again and immediately disabled device control integration before rebooting once more.

Device control integration would then stay disabled and things worked without issue.

Also looking for the hotfix myself, so if anyone can provide it, please drop me a PM.

We've just had our first BSOD report, a dell laptop. I've disabled the device option and will see what happens. The laptop is 430 miles away, and it's the director's laptop, so I have my fingers crossed.....

Since I disabled device integration for this laptop, it too has seen no more BSOD. So I think the workaround is good, but clearly a solution is preferred. (No need for the hotfix, this does the job for now).

It would be good to get an indication of when we might see a new official build released, including this fix, so that I can build new packages and deploy them.

A service build containing a fix should be available soon (ie. after it's passed QA tests).

    Hi Marcos,

Will service build release to auto daily updates? It will help us to patch 50+ station manually. Can you tell this request to ESET?

    Thanks

    Thanks Marcos.

Just for info, one of our other computers experienced a different problem today. Reboot > logon > hang. Reboot > logon > hang. Endless cycle. Tweaking the Device setting and pushing out the config has solved that one too.
