We are using ESET Endpoint V5. While one can opt out of submitting files completely, there doesn't appear to be any prompting mechanism to allow the user to decide whether or not to submit individual files. In the older BE versions we used to be prompted as to whether we wanted to submit suspicious files or not.
This is a an issue for some of our developers who are worried about sending development (non obfuscated) versions of dot-net dlls (which in effect contain the code) out of the building.
I know one can add exclusions but this is retrospective in that by the time you find out that a particular file is rated as suspicious, it has already been sent!

If you are worried about submitting files you don't want to submit, disable submission of files in the LiveGrid setup.

The second option would be to exclude .dll files from file submissions through live grid.

I've never received a dialog asking me to send the samples. Deselecting the "submit automatically" option in the main UI tools section doesnt help.

As I said in my original post, I am aware that we can opt out of submitting files completely. I am also aware of the exclusion options.
If I (and other users) do this then the usefulness of live grid is much reduced - if nobody submits files then what's the point? An option allowing one to choose whether to send files would allow users to submit files they are unsure about while excluding others.
