What is your security setup these days?

Virustotal says it's clean, so does my EAM. It's probably a fp with mbam. No worries.

It could also be a fp. I trust my EAM and all the apps in Virustotal scanning more than just MBAM and AVG.

 

I removed Bitdefender Rescue CD for monthly scan and replaced it with Emsisoft Emergency Kit.

V.2 is much faster than V.1 was, when performing deep scan.

 

Definitely, they added enhanced caching

MBAM Pro is doing great here. It gulps down much ram for it's measure though.

 

mbam pro make system slow here too

 

It's especially felt when using a netbook of low ram.

 

Been running whats in my sig for the last few months without any problems.
No need to change for the foreseeable future,fingers crossed.

 

Can anyone suggest what the BEST / most secure firewall is, even if it requires paying?

I'm super paranoid when it comes to the leaking of personal data, and would like to install something that's super-paranoid and super-effective.

Considering that we're mostly in a day and age where attackers try to trick us to run something, especially with administrator privileges, I've decided to follow a different approach.

The approach is: Run full administrator. That way, they won't even try to trick me, they'll just do it. That way, I won't feel cheated and sad about it.

If you can't fight them, join them. Right?

Just kidding... mine has been pretty much the same for a few years now.

I'm actually setting up a new computer today, and want it to start out super-secure from the get go. Here's what I'm thinking:

Comodo Firewall
GData suite (since I've got an existing license, but will turn its firewall off)
Hitman Pro, set to run once a week
Sandboxie, for running all browsers and internet-facing stuff in
Firefox in Sandboxie, noscript / ghostery

Sound safe?

 

If you configure Sandboxie and Comodo right, it's almost unbeatable.

P.S.: add something to backup your system.

 

Just incase your new to Sandboxie,under settings-Delete-Delete Invocation,tick the box
Automatically delete contents as this will empty the sandbox after each browsing session.
