Yes, that was me. After a restart the problem is gone.

I also had calc.exe quarantined as it was marked as Win32.Malware.Heur_Generic.A(kcloud). I compared it to the one in dllcache folder and it was bigger, so it was indeed infected. Didn't go deeper though.

I'm running KAV on my XP machine with ESET Smart Security, on my Win 7 machine as standalone. Like it so far.

ESET Smart Security is nagging about channel exploiting in ICMP packets:

They are the false positives of ESET. When KAV update failed, it will ping several servers to check the Internet connection of users, and return an update result based on the ping result.

KPD was never discontinued. Development of the new version was simply put on hold so they could finish up KAV. KAV will be entering tests sometime soon but we will have to be patient.

I wanna use KAV. What settings should I apply to make it play nice with the setup in my sig.

Does it have any other engine like Bitdefender, Ikarus? Like dual engine? Or just in house Kingsoft engine?

No need to touch anything in the settings! And yep, no third-party engines are present in KAV. ;)

I thought smart scan should be applied in system defense to make it compatible with other AV.

I ran EasyBCD to rewrite my MBR to dualboot, since I do not like grub. When I wrote it and installed it to MBR it alerted me to a change to MBR and gave me options to allow or deny.

I've had a major issue with Kingsoft, which is was running alongside RoboScan.

Initially everything worked fine - however last night I tried to open the RoboScan interface from the system tray, and it wouldn't open, even after several tries. Also Windows explorer was having problems, and I couldn't start task manager.

After a reboot, Windows explorer was still not working properly - a typical symptom of having mutilple antiviruses running. I tried to do a system restore, but it not working prooperly and there was only one restore point from a months back to rollback to. So, instead I ran chkdsk on C: which did fix an issuse with my harddrive but no my Windows problems. Next I ran SFC which also didn't help.

I then did the following to no avail, rebooting after each step:
    Disabled Kingsoft running at startup
    Uninstalled RoboScan.

In the end I uninstalled Kingsoft (and also disabled Kerish Doctor from running at startup - but I highly doubt this was the source of the problem), and then rebooted, and now my system is working fine again, albeit without virus protection.

I doubt that RoboScan was causing any of the problems as the issues persisted after I unistalled it. Anyway I'm going to install RoboScan again tonight (I'm going to try out the Pro version), and will leave Kingsoft untill it is updated.

No, I was unaware that this was needed. Also, it should be noted that the problem continued with Roboscan uninstalled, and Kingsoft left as the only antivirus.

What OS are you using? How long had you use KAV alongside RoboScan before you noticed this issue?

I'm running Win 7 Pro 32. However, Kingsoft is still installed on my machine. I was sure that I uninstalled it last night, but it seems not to be the case at all. This is all rather confusing to me as I uninstalled Roboscan, rebooted and had problems, then I thought I uninstalled KAV and rebooted with no problems.

I was running Roboscan for a few days before I encountered any problems.

Maybe there was an issue with the latest definitions for Roboscan which were installed last night after not using my laptop for three days. I'm installing Roboscan again as I type this, and I will post back here if I have any problems.
