No problem Page, you know I agree with you machines are so bloody anonymous, real interaction with humans has a divine aura when it works.
Without those that I know from various areas of the security community and otherwise, I would not be able to deliver the level of expertise to these Forums. This is not to say that Facebook is for everyone.
Don't understand what you mean here. Are you saying that using Facebook enables you to be a security expert?
Woah, you guys are going overly paranoid, although i don't have a FB account i wouldn't call it useless or bad.
I'm on Facebook, but not to post about my private life. I went on to "like" anything I want to track then use it as a news source. From TV shows, to music bands and companies I like. Then I use Flipbook on my iPad to check it on a regular basis in a magazine-like interface. That's it. I don't use it to post pictures of my cats.
It's a no for me. Other geeks I know have an account not related to their true identity and just watch out for the free software there The pictures for the account they get from the internet.
Phone, email and skype all have privacy issues as well. At least by using Facebook I am making everything easy for the homeland security.
Yes, but with fake account: just for following some news/updates which are much easier to keep alive with FB. Not really for social purposes. i do not post, just read. I do not publish anything. Privacy settings are set at highest level anyway.
I voted no. I did try FB once but I didn't get into it. I was able to find out what some person I vaguely knew years had for their lunch. I also don't want to have my entire life out in public.
