Good Morning ! Using G-Data 2013 I.S. and WSA Essentials. Very surprised how G-Data isn't slowing down my surfing...it's generally light and nimble. Pleasantly surprised. The only con is when installing I had to un-install WSA...not a problem since it's a snap to re-install and set-up. So far as stated I'm impressed with G-Data...time will tell. Sincerely...Securon

Really? Gdata is light and nimble? The last time I had used it was very heavy. But I guess all the heavyweights like Bitdefender, G-Data are shaping up in the new range of products shedding some baby fat in the process. :argh:

Thats just the memory usage of mbamservice. That has nothing to do with the resources you free up by not running MBAM real-time protection.

Can you say like which resources will be freed up? That will give me a peace of mind. :)

MBAM won't scan every .exe you start which which causes a slight delay.

If you uninstall real time MBAM and reinstall as on demand, the program will use memory, resources only when scanning.

I do not think so. You see that mbamservice process will be there eating a 100 mb(may vary in each system) whether or not I'm using the MBAM licensed on- demand, real-time or completely removing MBAM using the removal tool in the MBAM forum and reinstalling a fresh install with on-demand only.

Need to beef up security for a while because of dealing with several different programs I don't completely trust. So I removed Mamutu, then loaded it back on along with the rest of Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6.6.

Reinstall the free version, you need to check it out yourself.

Since I don't have MBAM installed on my system, I installed the program under a LV program to see if something had changed since I used the program last. Nothing has changed, when running a scan or if the UI was open, I saw mbam.exe running. After the UI gets closed, mbam.exe don't run anymore.

bo_elam is correct my friend. I personally just tested it in my VM with mbam in free mode. mbamservice only runs if you use mbam pro.

New here. I'm paranoid about security though, so thought I'd seek opinions:

GData Total Security 2012 (with its firewall)

ShadowDefender, as last layer of defense, set on entire drive except some document directories.

HitmanPro, set to run weekly scan

Would AppGuard be redundant to this setup? Thanks for opinion.

I don't see why you're using a beta version of Chrome, as it could contain possible vulnerabilities not yet discovered. :)
