Basics of the old engine, nothing comparable to what KAV/KIS actually use.

I've used KIS for years & b4 that KAV. Recently I had little over a month on a subscription. But KIS2012 been the worst product in as far like 3-6x a day KIS wouldn't let me do squat. The toolbar icon it'd be flashing like craaaaazy!

I said enough! Tried Unthreat for a bit with free fw. Then I found Roboscan & I ain't looking back. Glad I ditched Unthreat, since later they were bought by SCUM.

Kaspersky once had my business but 2012 was the worst since I tried McAxxx. I still sometimes won't spell it out, like now. Years ago I belonged to a forum that wouldn't let you spell it. Can't remember exactly but I think they word filtered it. Like a swear word. It was so funny at the time.

If your antivirus has failed you, you can usually rely on Kapersky's tools or their antivirus to clean your computer. They've been at (or near) the top of virus detection since the 1990's. I've always loved them for that as they have always fixed computers that I have had to clean.

Most people here keep their third party software up-to-date, so they can use and promote third-rate antivirus products. If they regularly had to deal with vulnerable computers, they would see how bad most AVs are.

Correct. Gotta give Kaspersky that. They make some of the best FREE malware tools around. And their paid products remove nasties probably better than anyone.

Sometimes Best detection is not all that you need.. I can live with 95% detection rate but not slow boot time, slow file opening, sloath speed updates, 400MB update files (offline updates)!!!
    Thank you very much i am a happy ESET user!!!:D :D :D

Yes I agree there. Still unsolved there at their forum. I had issues with the "have not been updated for a long time" but since it seems not to be solved also there and knowing I am updated and clean(through the other dualboot AV) I just disregarded it. Other than that it's very good.

Seems like some people Misunderstand this thing.

Kaspersky will protect you from Malicious site/malware even if the addon/extension is not compatible with the browser
as KIS/KAV products scan on the traffic level regardless.

all url advisor does is put a graphical indication next to links and search results to let you know if a site is dodgy or not.

I am using the 2013 Beta on windows7x64 right now. Must say it seems to be running very well. No slow boot up on my machine. A slight delay but nothing to worry about. I may just keep it.

Kaspersky is an excellent AV! It has excellent detection, and removal capability! Some say it could be a little lighter, and maybe that would be an area they can work to improve. I presently use Eset because they are light and it works well with other antimalware products. If I ever switched AV's though Kaspersky would be an option. I have used it, and it works fine for me. I didn't feel like reading this entire thread, but I hope this is not another one of those threads with a lot of people whining about having to pay for a program or service. That really upsets me when people act like their is something wrong with charging to use someones product or service. The money goes towards paying their employees salaries, and for further research. Theirs nothing wrong with wanting a free AV, and some of them perform really well. The problem is when some users act like a company is evil for expecting money in return for their services. Those employees are making a living just like everyone else that works, and has to feed their family's. Some of these companies offer a free version, and the user's still grumble, and complain. Where is the logic in their thinking o_O
