I see not only that NOD32 for for home 5.2.9 has been released but also that a version 6 beta has been released as well.

Version 5 home has been out for a while now and Eset's released a version 6 beta but what about the business users? I have a number of business that have been having an increased incidence of viruses and malware that 4.2.76 has not been blocking and they're looking for an updated release that will better protect them.

What's holding version 5 business back? When can my customers expect a new version?

From v5 onwards, Home and Business (Endpoint) versions are two completely different products with specific features aimed at the appropriate consumer segment and their own life cycles. Enpoint products have been available as Release Candidate for some time already and the final version will be released soon.

All product versions, be it v3/v4/v5/v6, use the same engine and modules so they are basically same in terms of detection and cleaning. V5 and newer versions utilize HIPS to protect crucial system and ESET's processes from being tampered by malware.
No vendor can ever offer 100% protection and every AV misses less or more threats. I wonder what malware your customers were hit by as well as what measures they took to prevent them (installed current Windows updates, use of UAC, limited accounts, etc.).

I tried with RC and found some problem. I can't access "imail.starhub.com" web mail. Actually it is a mail system hosting at Google and interface by StarHub ISP. After key in user ID and PW, it will route to google mail but now it came out all script languages. I was surprised after uninstall ESET, I can access emails. I tried install symantec endpoint protection and also OK. Only eset av (eithere RC or home edition) , both unable to access. Pls look into it. If you need more details to try out, PM me.

Just for example, I had one customer today that I went to do some maintenance on his office computer and the NOD32 icon was missing from the system tray and the program appeared to be uninstalled. I asked him if he uninstalled it and he said no. I started scanning first with a non-eset root kit detector and that revealed the system was infected by Backdoor.Multi.ZAccess.gen; then I tried another well known malware scanner and that found and removed something called TrojanProxy.Agent; after that I still couldn't reinstall NOD32 as the install kept failing about 90% through so I tried a third more aggressive removal tool and it removed these things:
    c:\windows\assembly\GAC_32\Desktop.ini
    c:\windows\assembly\GAC_64\Desktop.ini
    c:\windows\system32\consrv.dll
    c:\windows\system32\dds_trash_log.cmd
    c:\windows\System64

and after a reboot I was then able to reinstall NOD32.

This customer had 4.2.71.2 installed on this particular machine; he is running Windows 7 x64 Pro and the OS was up to date, no critical updates were missing; java was version 6 update 30; Flash for both FireFox and IE were at 11.1.x; needless to say that I installed NOD32 4.2.76, uninstalled Java 1.6 and installed 1.7 update 4; installed the latest Flash for both FireFox and IE.

But my point here is that his system was not so out of date that something of this nature should have happened; NOD32 not only failed to stop the attack but was removed from the system. In other cases that I've seen, NOD32 wasn't removed by the virus/malware but serious rootkits and malware have made it onto systems running either Business 4.2.71.2 or 4.2.76. And these customers are asking me why if there's a newer version for the home user then why isn't there a newer version for us business users? You answered this question and I will certainly pass this along but end users seem to equate "newer" versions with better protection.

English version of Endpoint Antivirus 5.0.2122.1 now available. Upgraded a few PC's thus far without any dramas. A HIPS communication error occurs at the end of the installation and so a system restart is needed
