Detection Eset smart Security 6 beta

Is the detection with Eset Smart Security 6 Beta just as good as the 5 version or is it better then the 5 version and why?

ive been running tests somewhat today and i will do more tonight and ill report back with my findings..

so far the only thing i see it does better is it detects things faster than v5 and it seems to have a bit better detection online i.e. web pages etc..again seems to catch things before v5 did. same for downloads they seem to be detected faster if that makes sense. i would say it has to do with the scanning of downloads and archive scanning while downloading *if this is active yet* the reason i say this is only a pair of modules are actually different than v5..see below only 2 modules are different than the most current v5 version this is prob why im not seeing any huge increase in detection over v5 yet.... at least this is my experience

I have found a problem with V6 .

If you have google drive (its a service like dropbox) then ESS 6 keeps scanning the google drive DB file over and over endlessly.

If you have google drive:
open ESS Statistics view and look how ESS scans and scans endlessly, the number of clean objects just increases and doesnt stop.

Now , pause google drive service (it can be done via its system tray icon), look back at ESS Statistics view: the behavior is back to normal.

Is that a bug ?

I suspect that Google Drive constantly polls its database file, which ESET Smart Security then scans as it is accessed.

Even if your assumption is correct , an AV should deal with such file polling more intelligently and more efficiently ( in consumes resources from the OS ).
There is no point to re-scan a file over and over ..
How can this issue be forwarded to the dev. team ?

 

It may not necessarily be scanned over and over. In statistics you can see the file that is currently being accessed and "goes" through real-time protection but that doesn't tell if it's scanned or not. If you are experiencing performance issues potentially stemming from this scan, we can troubleshoot it further.

 

It is a problem:

The information of (last) scanned object is not readable to the user since the Google DB file is shown there all the time.

Not only it looks odd to have millions of scanned objects (due to Google DB file counting ) , even though it is not reflecting the real scanning process BUT it render useless the statistical information of the last scanned object.

PLEASE fix it ...
