    Greetings,

After I've done an installation of ESET Smart Security. This particular Hard Disk keep on crashing onto my friend's computer.

We tried other external storage devices and there was no issues.

I tried Uninstalling ESET and plug in this particular Hard Disk and it turned out to be fine.

After I re-install ESET onto the computer again and plug in this particular Hard Disk, the computer just crashes.

Would really appreciate if anyone can help me with this situation as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

Is this particular hard disk an external type?
    Have you tried reformatting it?

What OS you have? If the computer crashes (ie. goes to BSOD), a memory dump should be created. Please supply it to ESET Customer care for perusal.

How do I get the dump file? Are you taking about the SysInspector Log file?

It is Windows XP 32bit. And I got it wrongly, it did not crash nor did it showed the blue screen of death. It just hang the computer and cannot do anything else.

I do have a SysInspector Log but I do not know how to post it up here.

Are you downloading/installing the latest version from eset.com? The latest version is 5.2.9 and should fix this particular issue for nearly all cases.
