Please, please don't start down the fast release path that Mozilla, Chrome and others have gone down...

Home and Business Edition are two different products. There's already Endpoint version (BE v5) available as RC for download and testing.

I know, but that is beside the point and doesn't answer my concern.

The BE and Home versions have always remained at the same version levels in the past.

If there is an official PLAN for these getting totally out of sync - ie, some kind of 'fast release' version for the home version - then that would be ok with me, but I'd like to read about the plan if it is documented somewhere... so is there?

Hopefully the BE will NOT go down that road though... AV is NOT something I want to have to worry about, there is way too much room for something to go bad with an AV update that is pushed out too early and/or with too little testing that can bring down an entire network - like what happened to Avast recently, and what happened to ESET a couple of years ago...

Home version and Endpoint (Business) version from v5 onwards are completely different products with different feature sets and their own life cycles.
ESET's products are thoroughly tested before release and major product updates are also available as beta / RC releases for testing by a broad public for a reasonably long time during which users' feedback is gathered and reported issues addressed.

Ok, but as I requested... is there any official/formal announcement from ESET, detailing these changes, where us Enterprise users can learn what to expect going forward?

Thanks... I actually like/approve of this change, but want to learn more details...

No exact dates for releasing Endpoint or v6 have been set yet. If a new product version is about to be released shortly, ESET makes an announcement via official channels and it's also announced here at Wilders'.

    Marcos...

I'm not talking about a release announcement, I'm talking about something that ESET has published specifically detailing this NEW POLICY of having two totally different products that have their own lifecycles, and how each will differ from the other, etc...

    Hi Tanstaafl,

I know you are concerned about a vigorous product life cycle, but I would prefer to see at as long as the features makes sense to the business.

I want to be on the latest and ground breaking trends for antivirus prevention. But if you don't, just remember that ESET has a nice long EOL support cycle on their products. I think they just ended life on V2 this year?
