I agree, one can access it from anywhere (including my smart phone), I don't have to worry about spam filters, infected mail (Gmail has powerful scanners, and won't allow executables in attachments). I also think that the future in computing is cloud oriented, therefore webmail would be the logical choice.

On my cellphone I can access all my accounts from one interface, so is basically via a client. Laptop via client, work and home workstations via client. Only time I find webmail access useful is from hotels, airports etc when I'm in a foreign country, very seldom in my home country.

Yes some people have other reasons they like using it for, however you can with alot of providors, use a real email client and still access messages from multiple computers. There are features on alot of providors servers that allow you to save downloaded messages on the server for a certain time period. This allows the same messages to be downloaded to different computers if you wish.

Gmail for the most part. Although I used Yahoo for many years. Had it since 1997 or 98. I have probably tens of thousands of emails in that account.

Why does GMX get so few votes? I thought it was pretty popular at one time...has some policy or service with GMX changed lately?

I use Google Apps to host my Domain email. No trouble getting the email address I want. I can create and delete any email Alias on my Domain.

Email from my other accounts gets polled to my Google Apps account. I can respond using those addresses from within Google Apps. All my mail is centralized.

All for $10 a year. The cost of my Domain renewal.

If I should ever wish to move from Google, I can do so simply by pointing my Domain email to another provider within minutes. With no interruption to my email. My contacts won't even know it happened.

I selected Other, none would have been a better choice.

Of the listed choices, I have accounts with Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, GMX Mail, AOL Mail and Windows Live Hotmail. I have several other accounts with other providers as well. All of them have webmail, none of them are a favorite. I have yet to find a webmail interface that can stack up to the capabilities of my local email client.

I have rented my own domain. It was really cheap, about 13 Us dollars per year here in Sweden.

Have had my @msn.com address since I was 14 and had dial up. I never get spammed and love it.

    I hate Gmail.
