    Hey, look!
There's hayc59, siljaline, and jabarnut (among others we all know), on the left column of your screen shots under "regulars". :) Ah...the memories.
Seriously folks. There is no doubt in my mind now the site will be back.
Just the fact that Justin has already invested quite a bit of money, in not only attempting to recover data, but new equipment as well. And I see more data is slowly being added.
I already see pages added that weren't there a couple of days ago. Sure, it's 'old stuff', but then so am I. ;)
It will certainly take a while, and some data is no doubt lost for good. (Remains to be seen just how much).
But as Cudni mentioned earlier, it has a strong community and following. And Justin is well aware of this. (Heck, I've often seen him post questions in the forums himself, so I'm sure it's like a home to him as well). He's spent far too much time and effort building the site over the years to just let it go 'poof'.
So let's just be patient. Heck, I'm patient now.
The first few days it was out, I was clicking on my bookmark at least 10 times a day to see what was going on.
Once I realized the true scope of the problem, I've dropped that down to only 5 times a day. :D

(Edit) "We have not seen this user for six weeks or more"
Lol! Hey, come on! It hasn't been that long. :D

Nor in mine. It's just a matter of when and how much.

Absolutely...I think that's the really big question on all of our minds.

Oh, and by the way. I think this site is great too. (Although I haven't posted much here, I've been a member since Jan 2006) And I've often 'lurked' over the years ;)
And a huge thumbs up to Wilders for allowing this thread to continue as things progress. Thank you! :thumb:

It is. This is the first helpful forum I found. Hard to believe 9 years have passed since then. :)

I'm sure it will be back but to make things worse the avast! forum is down also.

Now I'm clicking on both of them 10 times a day.

Good to hear all the positive posts. I, too, think that Justin will bring it back in one form or another. Yes, this forum is good and I am now checking out all the other posts here.

In this age of cheap storage and easy to implement mirroring file systems this seems unimaginable.

As for how much money its costing Justin, I would think little if any. I am almost 100% certain the hosting company is paying for the restore. Not having backup power at a hosting facility is equally unimaginable and I'm sure they are paying for that mistake.

Anyway, nice to see you guys.

Sound like NAC is a bunch of incompetents.

Although a UPS that a server was plugged into did fail where I work, but nothing really bad happened, just a couple or so hours of downtime if I remember right. The power was on when it failed though.

Aren't UPSes supposed to send a signal to the server that they're plugged into when the remaining runtime gets dangerously low so the server can do a clean shutdown so that no filesystems get corrupted?

    Update 2th May
Well this is quite a saga and far from over, however I expect to open the site at least for login and posting use from today. This state will run while the recovery company complete RAID reconstruction so we can locate the missing partition.

Yep, looks like today is the day. Yeah!!

One can only hope as I am sure a few members are hurting without BBR.

I figured today was a best guess on Justin's part. More like tomorrow or Fri. if their doing proper testing to ensure things are running smooth. Now would also be a good time for his web master to fix known forum issues and update the site IMO.

Is anyone able to post yet besides a couple mods? Some forums also seem to be missing also.

Edit found the forums they are where I left them 18 months ago.
