unfortunately, all did not got well.

Suspend seems to be working now but upon resume the soundcard is disabled.
why does it have to be so hard to configure sound in Linux? o_O

anyway, i might give a last shot with Linux with Ubuntu and Mint later this year.
got to admit my patience is wearing thin though.

Try to post your problem in the forums, maybe people there are able to help:

moontan is quite familiar with that forum and the impression I got was that most, if not all, his queries were satisfactorily dealt with (assuming, of course, that both moontans are the same :) ).

i tried a few of the suggestions i was given but ultimately it did not work.
the basic problem is that the default soundcard changes every time i reboot.

i was told that it was a problem with my particular machine and some 'bugginess' in E17.
i did not want to bother people further about my particular problems though.

anyway, i will certainly give Bodhi another try when the 2.0 version based on the next Ubuntu LTS.
    sometimes in July i heard.
there should be lots of changes between now and then.
