    From their forum (Fabian Wosar):
Personally, I like Emsisoft, but it crashes too often for me to use it. A shame.

Nice Quote Thankful, as Fabian said, personally when i run On-Demand scans i do expect the AV to take every single bit of processing power my PC has and that's why i only do that overnight or when going out :D

"We are thinking about offering a bit more control to the user when it comes to on-demand scans in the future though. Like allow the user to select the priorities at which scans run, control the number of threads used during the scan or limit the scan to certain CPUs/cores."

I have been waiting a long time for antimalware programs to take this approach, let the user decide how many cores/cpus should be utilized in a scan.

I want to try Emsisoft. Previously, when I installed it (about few years ago ) it was bit resource consuming.

Since, there are not many test for performance for it, could anyone tell me how much boot time increase does it have.

I use norton, so i have good boot time and overall fast performance. Hope its equivalent to that.

As of now with constant usage (Web Browsing, IM etc.) it's using around 67MB. (It varies a lot, sometimes it can be as low as 15MB or sometimes as it is now and yes i included all processes).

I haven't noticed any performance impact BUT there is one moment where you will notice lag and that is when you haven't done updates for a few hours/days. Usually when you first turn on your computer during the day and it's been off for quite some time you may notice your computer slower than usual due to the updates but after it finishes it's all smooth again. :D

The only thing which irritates me is their Virus Definition are so big.

Hahaha yeah, if you don't update for an extended period of time it might download almost the whole DB again but sometimes it does it anyways even updating frequently (Probably they renew the database every now and then with more efficient signatures etc.) :D
