Ive also wanted to try DW on 64 bit ,and also think roady has a good idea.Agnitum did similar type of thing with outpost when they first developed it.They gave lifetime licences to those that purchased it while it was in beta and actively being developed ,until it was a fully fledged ,and ready for the masses.

 

This would be a great idea for DefenseWall: lifetime licenses for x64 beta testers - at a higher price of course

 

You know I suggested something similar at DW forums a while back. Tell me how much you want for a "DW pre development stage 64bit lifetime license" if bought now and I will be able to give you my respons immideatly. Where is the link where I can pay? I have full confidence in you and your competence and commitment. It would most likely be a better investment than most security products.

Some say App Guard is bullet Proof and I am sure you can develop some kind of DW hybrid that is amongst the +99% top 64bit security software.

The amount of money mentioned earlier would not scare me off.

Totally agree, and I would also be very happy to support Ilya. Sadly I had to change my Computer and it is now 64 bits and even if I have a valid license I cannot use DW.

Well, not really. "Uninformed" way is quite old and, I suppose, no use, TDL4 infects MBR that won't work with Win8/UEFI.

 

Win. 7 x86 can be bought for $100. and you could have DefenseWall yet this evening. Seriously, I don't know how someone who has used this program could consider running without it. I can change the rest of my security software and play around with just DefenseWall and feel secure. But if the machine goes to the internet without DefenseWall I reformat. I bought the 32 bit system and haven't run the 64 yet and won't till DefenseWall comes along.

 

Compared to my earlier post above, the upgrade to v3.17, in another snapshot was seamless.

That's the problem with undocumented APIs. MS doesn't like to talk about them =p

 

I love DefenseWall, the support, the concept, everything...except that no matter what, once I start using it on my computer, after a few days, a week or so, I start noticing system slowdown and internet browsing sluggishness. I pretty much only use Chrome based browsers - before I had Google Chrome and now I have SRWare Iron. I wish DW got along better with my system but that does not seem to be in the cards.

 

I can't say for Chrome, since I have never tried it, but I have never noticed any lag when using Opera.

 

acr, have you checked JumpListIconsOld folder in your Chrome directory?
C:\Users\-username-\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

I read about it and some users using chrome complaining that their browser noticeable slowed down during normal browsing. It was on official google forum and they didn't use DW.
They noticed (me to also) that mentioned JumpListIconsOld folder had from 3GB to even 16GB. After delete this folder (Chrome anyway re-create it automatically) I noticed that browsing speed up in my case. Now this folder has only 3MB so it's noticeable difference.

 

3.17 final release running smooth here. DW is why I stay x86.
