Con - No files in your history. No files cached.
Pros - Pretty much the same.

    FWIW.

I use Safari on XP SP3.

Around a month ago I was doing a fresh install by uninstalling Safari and then manually cleaning files after the uninstall process was done, and to see all leftovers I had to show all files including hidden ones.

So after awhile cleaning files I discovered a hidden file named
"private browsing" wich is the name for the private mode in Safari and it was around 50MB big.
Though I didn't actually open the file to see what's inside I just deleted it. :)

But I have no idea if Firefox also creates a hidden private browsing file some where :doubt:

    Cons - convenience.
Pros - Only if you share your machine with others and/or fear others seeing what you might be doing in Firefox.
