Spot on. We seen it before where good programs start of with a bang and then go south,But the lack of revenue will make many packing there bags and leaving the customer with the short end of the stick, the paying ones that is.If we support then we expect it in return and if not then they might start packing now.

There is an "Exit" option in the same menu. This shuts it off. Reactivate by clicking on the startup screen icon and it returns to the same option you were running before exiting.

ellison64, what country are you in? We are getting close to having the registration outside of the USA issue resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We thought we had it fixed, but it is still not working in some countries. It is especially difficult for us to fix since we are all located in the US. We are working on the problem as we speak, and hope to have it resolved very soon.

CloneRanger, hi, we removed the OFF mode since Train Me is the same as OFF, except it is learning new programs. We can always add OFF mode again, but we figured that it did not do anything for the user. Basically, OFF mode was not learning, and it was not blocking, it was not doing anything at all. Does that make sense, or does everyone think we should add an OFF mode?

    Hi,

I am testing VoodooSheild. After I updated from version 0.88 to version 0.93 I am having a problem with it constantly popping up that it has blocked svchost. I had VoodooShield in "TRAINING ME" mode all day today and it is still showing this. Is there a way to reset the white list or is there another way to fix this? I didn't uninstall because I though you would want logs.

    Jeff

Hi jerick70, let me guess, you are running a 64 bit system? We are having similar issues, and we hope to have them resolved in the next couple of hours. We are also going to add a button to the settings form so that users can reset their whitelist snapshot. As soon as we have the fix, we will post it. Thank you!

jerick70, please exit out of VS and start it again. Everything should be working great now! If anyone is having problems with the 0.93, please exit VS and start it again. We had some problems on the server, but they should be fixed now!

Actually, sorry, everyone will need to upgrade VS. We will have that ready in a couple of hours. It will also include a button to reset your whitelist.

CloneRanger, I see what you are saying, and that makes sense, we are just trying to keep VS as simple as possible, while still being functional. Keep in mind, VoodooShield's whitelist is much smaller than other security software, and will include a feature that will automatically deletes programs from the whitelist that have not been used in a couple of months. Do you think this will work, or do you really want VS to have an OFF (Disabled) mode? Please let us know.

FYI, we FINALLY have the engine working EXACTLY the way we want it, after 9 months of development. We have all of the bugs worked out on the engine, and it is purring like a kitten. We will have this version available for download tonight or tomorrow. After that, we just have to add a few features over the next week or so, and we will be able to finish the beta test.

BTW, thank you for finding us and posting VoodooShield on wilderssecurity, we really appreciate it!

YES, i would want VS to have an OFF (Disabled) mode. It's only an extra option to include, for those who wish to make use of it, as & when :thumb:

Furthermore, whitelisting some things aren't wise IMO. Here's just one eg, Rundll32.exe can be used by Malware to do All sorts of things. I have it set to Always prompt me to run in ProcessGuard. I hardly ever need to allow it though, but if i do i'm in control, not it or Anything else.

Nothing wrong with simple as such, but sometimes more is required. That's why Apps which have an extra "Expert" Tab etc is IMO a good idea. That way you please as many people as possible.

All the best with the Puddy Cat ;)

Don't forget to send the cheque :D

Here is the latest version. It SHOULD register fine outside of the USA, if not please let us know!

If anyone experiences problems, there is a button in the Settings screen that will reset your whitelist.

We will be adding some new features over the next week.

I will talk to the other developers about the OFF mode and will most likely include it in the next release.

Yes, there are some expert features that we will be adding over the next week or so. Yes, dll's can be especially tricky. We have to create the best user experience, while still keeping the computer as bullet proof as possible.

Who do we make the check out to? ;)

    Thanks again!

The block on svchost is still happening on my system after upgrade to 0.94.

I have a few observations and requests for features.

    1) Since my upgrade to 0.93 and 0.94 I have to right click on the icon twice to bring up the VoodooSheid menu.

    2) VoodooShield isn't as responsive as it was before the upgrade.

    3) I think you should include support for all browsers in VoodooShield's Smart mode. I use SRWare Iron and VoodooShield does not work with it in Smart mode.

    4) You should change the wording in the right click menu to hide and show the widget or icon to make it easier to know what the feature does. Like "Hide Desktop Widget" or "Hide Desktop Icon". Before I read on your site I wasn't sure what it did since both the systray icon and desktop icon show on my system.

    5) You should inculde an Expert mode with VoodooSield. This would let us tweakers configure it the way we wanted. And of course there would be the Basic mode like you have now for Grandma.

Thank you Jerick70 for your feedback, it is very helpful. If VS is not running well, please go to the settings screen and reset your whitelist. We ran .94 on 7 different computers, and it was running perfectly. Please let us know if this fixes the problems.

Latest 0.94 beta...earlier "not blocked" Free Commander, XnView, 1by1 and CCleaner now are correctly blocked :thumb:
    But
Why after reseting WL security mode comes back to the "Train Me"? I think it would be better back to previous mode or to give the user some choise - for example from menu in tab "Reset WL"?

ichito, cool! We just thought we would put it back into Train Me mode since the user will have to train VS from scratch. We can change this to what you are suggesting, depending on what feedback we get. Thank you!

jerick70, hopefully resetting the whitelist fixed the problems, if not let me know. It is running extremely well on all of our test computers.

Yes, we will have to include a place where people can manually insert their browser, along with other more advanced features. We really do want to keep it as simple as possible while maintaining a great user experience.

We will think about the show and hide names as well.

    Thanks again!
