OA isn't installed, it comes and goes  and the popup good well be diligent self-awareness

edit: Just had a idee, Windows 7 and Vista Security Center service is set at automatic delayed startup up. I change it to Automatic, the problem seems to disappear.

I think the pop up is related to the service and program itself shutting off when you're shutting down the computer, that pop up is just the alert to let you now your AV has been disabled but who cares if the PC is shutting down? :D

After getting "Very Tired" of Trialing Several Free/paid AV's-
All I tried had low detection rates, blocked normal settings changes, slowed my fast computer/internet...-
After "Happily" Trialing Fast Emsisoft Anti-Malware (AV only/No OA!), #1 detection rate at http://malwareresearchgroup.com/category/malwareproducttesting/ / http://www.anti-malware-reviews.com/ (see how your AV stacks up here!), I bought it with a Very Good 1/2 off Special Offer deal at http://download.cnet.com/Emsisoft-Anti-Malware/3000-2239_4-10292236.html (BTW- Don't download EAM Trial from cnet, as it isn't usually the latest version! Download here- http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/antimalware/ is Now Fast!):D

I use the free version as an on-demand scanner. I've experienced an update issue several times in which the program states that it's going to download over 70 MB of updates, yet I had just updated the day before. If I cancel the update, and try to update again, then I get a much smaller update. The issue has occurred with v6.0.0.52 and possibly older versions also.

Same here. Their server must be down. My other programs are updating okay.

No big deal, just a index. I have seen this behavior before trying out kaspersky and I believe it was v.10

Can anyone download without changing the hosts file? Currently down for 13 hours.

Really the update worked for you?
Tried manual update and it has the same connection error, verified automatic updates log and they all seem to have failed. o_O
Lets give Emsisoft some time, i'm pretty sure they are working on it :D

No update here, still the connection error. I modified my hosts file and got the latest update then reverted my hosts file back.

Instructions from Fabian Wosar at Emsisoft:

"As a temporary workaround you can force EAM to use a specific server by adding an entry to your hosts file:

    80.237.191.2 update.emsisoft.com

This is only a temporary solution and I strongly suggest to remove the entry after you performed an update. The server IPs change quite often so chances are you will end up with a disconnected IP at one day."

I used the option in WinPatrol to view, then edit the Hosts file.

No tweaks was done, i did not modify the HOSTS . . . what i did was just try a few times and now it's working smoothly!!
