Hi Kardo, haven't tested the SecurityInstaller.exe yet (SHA1: cfb5b466b168336fdaa84165b1dece66016468f3) but when putting it through VirusTotal, it came up with one hit from Dr. Web.
Have you contacted them and asked why they flag it as malware?

Could you perhaps also explain here how f.i. browser protection works, what active protection actually means, which security programs can be used together with yours instead of a generic 'You can use Kristal Security together with other security programs, no conflicts with other programs.'
Perhaps a bit of info on your (programming) background etc.

    Hi Baserk,

    Thank you for the report.

This must be false positive by Dr.Web. Maybe this is because of Installer. I made installer with Bytessence InstallMaker. Anyway i have to work on this.

I have to take contact with Dr.web because of this is false positive.

You asked questions about Kristal Security. Okay, i hoped that you try my another product what is in title called Kristal Safe Way 2012.

    Answers to your questions:

Kristal Security is basic anti-malware product and work with all other antivirus products. It can detect very basic malware. Databse source what my program is using is from malc0de website.

Anyway i recommend to use my 2nd security product: Kristal Safe Way 2012, because this program protect browsers against silent downloads.

You asked how this is working. I´ll try to explain.

Program watch for mozilla & IE surfing folders (where temp files located).
Safe Way then lock these temp files and disable automatic execution (turns execution mode off for files), but this don´t cause any slowdowns while you are surfing.

    Hello everyone,

Dr.Web flag our product as malware in virustotal, but this is false positive, because only 1 scanner of 42 reports our product as malware.

Kristal Security is flagged by Dr.Web - 1 of 42

    and

Kristal Safe Way is flagged by Jiangmin - 1 of 42

I just want to inform everyone that you don´t have to afraid and you can safely download and use our products. If any questions, feel free to ask.

    Best Regards,
    Kardo Kristal

Threads merged! There's no reason for 2 threads in less than 10 hours of posting. Don't create extra threads for each minor version release.

Does it support 64 bit? Also, since you are preventing executing of files from temp folders of the browsers, can you also add to prevent execution for usb drives?

Re: Kristal Safe Way 2012 [0.0.0.1 Beta]

Why not set an AGE maximum in the settings for malware URL. When I tested Chrome's build in phising protection with URL's from malware domain, it lagged 30 minutes to 4 hours. All older URL entries were protected by Chrome. So when your program updates these lists say every 10 minutes, throw away those malware URL's entries of malc0de when they are older than 24 hours (keeps your local DB neat and slim also).

When you promote it to be a companion security tool, make it a GOOD companion by preventing overlap. This also benefits the performance of your program

How does it achieve this, something simular like Icacls can deny generic execute rights?

By the way does not recognise Chromium unzipped in a custom directory, may be add an option to include programs to monitor?

    Hi Kees1958,

Thank you for your interest & suggestion.

It is good suggestion about program local database.

I am starting to working on this. At this time i am commited for Kristal Safe Way application.
I try to fix performance issue on 0.0.0.2 Beta version & will release new build as soon as possible.

Yes, Kristal Safe Way working similarly like Cacls.

Yes, at the moment this not support custom applications/locations but it is good suggestion for future builds ;) - I´ll try to add option for custom programs to monitor.

I also plan to make Kristal Security portable version and same for Kristal Safe Way for better usage everywhere.

If there are any errors in beta versions then i hope that you forgave me because i am the only developer of these two programs.

    Best regards,
    Kardo Kristal

It installed fine on my x64 system. I haven't tested it because it did not detect my Waterfox installation, Waterfox is a 64 bit optimized firefox which uses the same profile folder for firefox. It did detect IE9, will wait for your future build which add supports for USB drives and custom applications/locations. :)

    Hi skudo12,

Thank you for your interest & information :)

That is good that Kristal Safe Way Work under 64-bit operating systems.

There is one thing i´d like to know about Waterfox & detection you mentioned:

You mean that Waterfox is not detected under Protected Applications list? or you mean that no increasing notes under Watchlist or both?

If not detected under Applications List then all is correct.

Please can you try to test WaterFox with Kristal Safe Way & tell me if Watchlist notes increase or not while you are testing.

Try this way: Start Kristal Safe Way (with Administrator privileges & make sure that Safe Way is enabled), then start Waterfox & try to surf to youtube.com for example.

If Watchlist is not increasing then let me know or if increasing then let me know as well.

    Best regards,
    Kardo Kristal

Hello, I'll try it if I have anytime, I have some exams coming this week. :(. Yep, it's not detected in the Application list. Also, I found out that you can open many instances of Safe Way, I accidentally opened it twice, lol.
