You don't have to disable Surf Protection.

Access main program → Guard → Host Rules
    • Sites you added/changed would show in My own
    • Built in list shows sites blocked by default
    Just tick a box next to list to show its content;
Use search field to find blocked domain.

  2. Brilliant! Thanks :)

You can do that in "Guards -> File Guard" if memory serves right. You can see "Manage whitelist" there, when clicking on it, a window will pop up letting you set files/folders you wanna whitelist. Also in there you can choose from which guard you want to exclude your files/folders. Pay attention to those cells, like the one from spread sheet, you can click and make selection, if that's what you missed.

"Lower resource consumption: Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 uses significantly fewer resources than earlier versions. This is complemented by an Advanced Caching System that self optimizes and becomes faster with every scan. The final result is that Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 has almost no effect on the performance of one's PC ."

Is it true ? How this version impacts on pc perfomance?

The license price is so cheap and detection is great ( i will buy for my parents ) , but perfomance is very important for me ... ( years without a infection anyway ).

I am testing it now on a virtual machine and real time protection seems to be faster than Panda Cloud. I think I will use it on my pc :)

Really? Im pretty sure EAM uses more RAM than Panda Cloud but i haven't checked about other things such as disk I/O etc. :D

RAM doesn't matter to me , disk I/O and perceived perfomance are much more important. I will test more

I have been using it about a week and find it to be excellent...I hate to give the "Noob" too much credit (might get the big head) but he had some influence on my trying it. So far it's really been excellent!:thumb:

LOL really i had influence on you?
    Hahahaha thanks :D

Personally i use it on 3 computers currently (Mine, dad's laptop and a friend's laptop). As i've said previously, on everyday use i feel no noticeable lag or performance impact BUT everytime it updates it DOES lag the PC a bit, as soon as the update is over it's all fine and dandy. :argh:

Usually the update only lags when i haven't turned on the PC for over 24 hours which means it's when it has to download lots of signatures.

My old XP Pro desktop, P4, also lags a bit when EAM is doing an update upon boot and it's has not been used in a long time. I've learned to live with it.
My i7 laptop has no issues.

I'd say it all depends on your expectations, although a lot faster than the previous version it might not be as light as others such as Avast!, NOD etc. :D

    Thanks.

So far 2 1 small things, Windows 7 action centre alerting me on boot that Emsisoft is turn off. Task manager says otherwise. Then after a couple off minutes action centre reports everything ok. BTW the "WMI Repository is Consistent".
    Apparently it disappeared by itself

On shutdown, very briefly a popup in the tray area. It's to fast to read.
    Nothing in any log.

And I'm not disappointed about the lightness.

Exactly the same experiences here; On Vista SP2, I will also get a MS Security Centre warning at bootup that EAM is switched off, the quick and dirty work around is disabling/enabling the EAM File Guard.
On Emsisoft forum, it's mentioned this can also occur when you've got OA installed, the trick then is to add the EAM folder and subfolders to the OA exlusion list.
In my case, MSSC will also revoke the warning after a minute or two having 'noticed' that EAM actually is up. A delayed start for EAM could probably avoid the warning but that's not something I'd like to do.
About the shutdown popup, it seems to me an EAM warning popup that (a part of) EAM is (being) disabled; diligent self-awareness ;)
