Install over top, or uninstall old version first?
    What's the recommendation from MBAM?

It should just update over top. Let us know if you experience issues though.

When I went to update MBAM today and clicked on the updates tab it said there was a new version and launched the update process. So it looks like thats how they expect most people to do it.

I did an install over-top, that way your ignore list | quarantined files | saved scan logs are maintained.

I should have listened to you.
I updated over top on two XP machines and both installs went bad... problems with mbamservice.exe and mbamcore.exe.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled.
    Okay now.

By the way, regarding this new feature...
Ability to password protect key program settings (paid version only)...
    where the heck is it?
I have two licenses, both programs are registered, but I can't find this new feature. :)

    Thanks TH & Sam.
    I'm a little bit embarrassed.
When I read the new feature description...
Ability to password protect key program settings
I misunderstood that to mean that I could password protect key programs on my system, like other security tools.
I realize now how dumb that was of me to think that, but I was looking for a browse function on the password set feature!
    Duh.

Excellent, thanks :). Given the nature of the issue, they may have you work directly with one of the members of our QA (Quality Assurance) team so that they can attempt to find the cause of the issue and replicate it themselves (hopefully so that they can assist the developers to get it fixed, assuming it's an issue with our code somewhere).
