Do you like polls after you've grown up and prefer detailed analysis and opinions?

Some of us are going to have to wait awhile before answering your question. :cautious:

Yes, but it depends: some polls are useless, simple curiosities, others are interesting to know the trends about the softwares choices.

To be honest, most polls here are not about the poll itself, but the discussion that follows within the poll. I don't really look at the poll results, but enjoy seeing others opinions about the poll. Sometimes you can learn from poll threads as well as all the others.

I have no idea how to answer this, honestly. Surely people understand polls are nothing more than opinions too. And detailed analysis can be just as bunk as an opinion if you base it on flawed information or just make something up. It happens every day. A grown man with any sense will ignore polls as a source of information, and will do his own research to find out whether any detailed analysis is in fact accurate.

Poles are ok. I knew a few back when I lived in the city. Besides that, I knew a few pole dancers there too. And they were really nice folks.

I love polls. I love discussions.

Polls are a great way to see how the community at large feels. Discussions are really great 1 on 1 or for a small group of people. I hate large discussions where I have 50 people talking to me.

At what age or level of responsibility does this happen? As for the polls, some of them are OK. A few are even useful. A lot of them are pointless. I don't use the results for anything more than information purposes.

"Grown" must be referring to the end of my 2nd childhood. My first was done (I think) long before the internet existed. Excuse me while I grab my cane and go outside to play.

Yep. This thread, save for its beginning, why I like Wilders Security: thoughtful bunch of folk, some necessary levity, some serious explorations, and some who listen to Pink Floyd. I dont know all your ages, but I guess some approach, few are, and even fewer surpass my age of 69. It feels like 15. I figure most are under 50, maybe under forty.

Brag a bit, I'm still able to do a century on my Serotta in a day.

I learn stuff here. I can't afford to go to a school. I learn stuff here, and learn where to learn more stuff. I'm in the toddler period of my third childhood, ~Comment removed.~ my 71 gal is in the same stage; we revel in that we live today the science fiction of our first youth.

    Damn, it's fun.

The polls tell us the trend among folk, I guess, some schooled and some like me learning on the hop, but all willing to help where we can, learn more, and I feel make the internet a little bit safer. I learn in forums. It's not just the tech knowledge, but also how to live my life.

I thank all of you for teaching me various things I didn't know before. I simplified my security programs, added more ways to backup, and upgrade my brain constantly.

I do not see my poll question as frivolous or serious; it was to elicit, what it actually elicited, some seriousness and some levity. Both can teach information and attitude.

I love polls when there is opportunity to explain ones thinking. I love polls even when there is not opportunity to explain; it then requires one to research the results.

    Thank you.
I am a Juvenal delinquent too.

Grown as in age or height?:p

Anyway, I have neutral feelings for polls...to me, they are simply sources of information/stats, platforms for discussion, and chambers for arguments/debates. There's things to love and hate in each aspect.

P.S. I'm still a young lad. Single and readily available. :D
