Nearly totally useless for dynamic IP connections, IMO.

 

That can be a MAJOR security issue! (Especially if people do that stuff with thier own IP showing)

 

My current IP address (in Moscow) really likes Hung

 

If you haven't download any warez the IP look-up should be clean.

 

Doesn´t impress me at all. Wrong location, absurd downloads. Looks like a prank to me - do you remember those e-mails showing images of "what's on your hard disk" and trying to trick you into buying some shady software? This is something similar but without the profit angle. Oh well...

Lmao Basically what this does is record what you share/download from the "bad ips", like RIAA addresses. If you block those from connecting to you, you're not likely to get a hit on this website. That has to be true because, as the guy said, it only records an extremely small percentage of P2P. Even that 50 million might consist of VPNs and other anonymous methods, so the website is damn near useless. It's just another scare tactic from desperate industries, and it won't work either. Hell, for all we know, the guys behind this are employees of the RIAA or MPAA.

The site has some inherent flaws - I know several folks that stream legitimate data via P2P and yield no IP geolocation tracks.

 

Blocking is just a placebo, your IP will still be forwarded by the tracker to other peers, thus making logging possible.

There can be other reasons for that 20% share of traffic logged:
a) They don't have access to private/semi-private trackers.
b) They don't have the money to track all public material.

All VPN users will show a ton of stuff that 'they' didn't download. It's a useless system. But I bet it was mentioned somewhere in the SOPA debate, because FUD beats the truth, every time.

That's funny, they may have changed the detection code. I use a VPN and went to that site a few weeks ago. It showed a ton of downloads that were supposedly 'mine', but I don't download. It was other users on the same service (which made the site useless for anything other than laughs). But now I got 'no records'. I wonder if they stopped logging VPNs?

Wow even if it's a joke, it's slightly scary, they only got me for one thing, some crappy video converter I downloaded last year from isohunt, which is now deleted from my pc, so I'm not that worried lol.
Guess that's what I get for downloading a torrent and from a public tracker at that!

 

That site is a joke. On different occasions I have downloaded a few apps. I've used µTorrent and Shareaza. I also run a Tor exit node. Although the default torrent ports are blocked, I've seen some big downloads going thru on several occasions. That site says I'm fine.
