After reading so many positive reviews about Webroot Secureanywhere2012 and Prevx (PCMAG- Editor's Choice, CNET Editor's rating-4.5/5)
I wanted to give them a try!!! So i D/L both...
    D/L Size= Less than 1 MB = My feedback = :thumb:
Tested 3-4 Latest Malware samples = feedback = :thumb:
    got exited, Disabled Emsisoft
tried Malware infected link = feedback =o_O :thumbd: got sality (prevx)
has to lose most of the exes because after cure, most of them where damaged..
    Formatted my PC..
    Installed Webroot Secureanywhere2012
    tested 4-5 samples
where it completely missing Trojan.win32.nebuler!E2, Emsisoft found it easily
So my question here is that, on their Site
Prevx Says : "Prevx 3.0 can be used as a stand-alone security application". & paying 35-40 $ just for a cloud protection!!!!where else Other top rated AntiViruses cost much less than them Both!!! i don't think i would spend such money on my backup antivirus!!!

    Ok...

    1. I'd think using Prevx 3 and WSA (which is basically Prevx 4) would cause problems but I may be wrong.

    2. Why would you test malware samples on a live PC, not a test PC or virtual machine?

    3. No AV will detect everything, and Sality is polymorphic I believe, so it's hard for AVs to keep up with it.

    4. You should have layers of security, not just WSA or Prevx, not sure what else you are using. You should use Sandboxie, Defensewall or something recommended on this forum.

Well it is kind of a test PC...I have 2 more HDs 500 & 250 GB
It is 80GB fully formatted HD, Just some useful exes like Firefox, Chrome, Opera
    IDM, Java, Drivers.etc
I am currently doing my Computer Engineering & very much interested in this field..also new to wilderssecurity, found it very useful
As i am here to get knowledge about this field, i won't feel ashamed if i won't know anything about & would like to get info. from advanced users from this forum...
So i want to ask you that if i have an exe, suppose which is a Sality Dropper or a Trojan Dropper & if i would run that in sandboxie. Would it Helpo_O?
& one more thing. How can i add the security software which i m using right now...like yours which says
Windows 7 Pro x64 | Norton DNS | Router + Windows FW | AppGuard (thank you Jmonge!) | Panda Cloud 1.5.1 free | Malwarebytes 1.51 free | HitmanPro 3.6 BETA free

Sandboxie would prevent any changes being made on the "real" system,so it would certainly help.

As for malware testing,a VM is often the most convenient (and secure) way, although with certain "VM-Aware" malware this isn't possible. In that case a spare system employing disk imaging is the best way in order to roll-back any malware infections.

Prevx should have been uninstalled automatically when you install WSA - they will definitely conflict. Could you try further tests without Prevx installed to see if that improves it? (Or, if you write into our support inbox, we'll work with you to make sure any of the problems are fixed :))

    Thanks!

In time I know it will be, but right now I would not use it by itself.

So you prefer to believe a comment from someone who hides behind anonymity to those made by people who identify themselves and put their reputations on the line?

I'd like to see several results from Av-Comparatives and Av-Test before I make a determination. WSA hasn't done that well with MRG.

Have had tested prevx(WRSA) during its BETA cycles and I can root that WRSA does its job in protecting the computer provided you are connected to internet. Regarding sality is concerned it can be disinfected, there are numerous tools out there for disinfection.

BTW WRSA and Sandboxie is solid and light combination, go try it out;)

No - please don't read into these statistics. Not only are they incorrect (using VirusTotal to test an AV is not a valid approach), it is using a massively diluted version of Prevx 3.0 which has maybe 1-2% of the full detection.

Please write into our support inbox so that they can help you. If you paste in the line from a scan log or just a hash of the file, they'll be able to look in our database to find it. Uploading a file through System Tools will put it into a bucket with a massive number of other files (people apparently use the feature to upload just about anything  ) and therefore it isn't processed automatically.

    Thanks :)

    Ok i will do that!!!
Personally i really liked WSA2012's idea of making it lighter & Cloud base Security only if its detection rates are really good.
What we are trying to do here is, pushing you to be something better than just good!! So best of luck for your future!!!:D

I agree :) And our primary goal is user protection - there are indeed a number of factors to take into account with an AV but protection is #1. We guarantee our cleanup and fully stand behind our protection so if you ever see us falling behind, please let me know and I'll be sure to get it fixed straight away :)
